First visit and will be returning soon. Extremely happy with my visit last night - great selection of wines, spirits and cocktails.
Food was great, generous tapas portions and all members of Front of House that served us were both professional and friendly.
Great to see it lively and packed on a Friday evening - working in the hospitality industry myself, it's fantastic to see establishments that have been closed for so long due to lockdown with all their seats filled and a buzzing atmosphere.

I have mixed views about this place but I have become increasingly disappointed. Tonight I popped in just for one last drink. After being shown to seat we promptly ordered a beer & a Mojito. 20mins later there was still no sign of our drinks. The staff didn't seem organised & so we left. Petra who owns/runs it wasn't there but even when she is the service can still be slow. The last time she took my order for a drink, she took so long she gave it to us for free. The tapas is ok, but most dishes are in the same sauce, olive oil, over seasoned & some chilli. Disappointingly gone down hill. Not as good as it once was

We regularly go to the Townhouse on Saturdays both to eat the delicious tapas or just to enjoy a good bottle of wine or two. We found it when it first opened and Its a wonderful place in the centre of town. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are always super welcoming and friendly. The small garden is a delight in the summer.
The food is excellent. We have enjoyed the full range of tapas and charcuterie boards over the years.
Like all other restaurants they had to close their doors with the COVID 19 virus restrictions. But to our great delight they are doing take away deliveries. We ordered a delicious shrimp and fish paella for my husband’s birthday. The service was excellent. A lovely personal touch too. We wholeheartedly support them and will order again.
Well done Petya and team.

We arrived and waited over an hour to be asked for drinks orders and then finally got asked for food where we were told not to order too many as we could order more later. We did this but then after waiting 30minutes more without food arriving we decided to order more and then we’re told we couldn’t order anymore as the kitchen was shut.
Although the food ( when it arrived ) was good the staff were moody and rude to us. We will not be returning.

Me and my family visited The Townhouse on 27/08/22. We went there with the intention of celebrating my sisters recent achievements.
We arrived and were greeted and sat by a lovely young gentleman at a nice table, however the two girls that ‘served’ our table the rest of the night were a different story. They were both icy cold, and clearly couldn’t really have cared less, it seemed as though it was nothing more than a chore to them.
The four of us felt whole heartedly that we should have walked out from the moment our water was slammed on the table.
We decided we would not return even though the food was good, purely down to the really poor and unsatisfactory service we received. It turned what should have been a celebration into more of a sour evening for us.
Needless to say the %10 service charge added salt to the wound, and was not something we wanted to pay.

Terrible meal. My friends and I went there last night. It must have changed hands as was so different. They used to have two lovely booths in the window and now have taken one out and out a massive table which looks ridiculous and out of place. We ordered tapas and three of them were inedible and in addition the pardon peppers were swimming in olive oil and very over cooked. The waiter confirmed the chef was new but the staff were different and the atmosphere gone. I fear it has changed hands and certainly not for the better.

Thank you for your feedback Fiona, we would just like to comment as we take every review very seriously. Firstly we are unhappy to hear your experience was not to our standard, however by good fortune the owners of the restaurant were actually seating on the high table and our staff did advice us that you are only unhappy with the croquettes and like any good costumer service these were removed from the bill. It was also notice no other food was returned including the pimientos. Clearly the food was edible because you had eaten it. However to cover the rest of your comment which do honestly seem a little strange?? can i just explain the Townhouse is a very successful bar and restaurant and the owners have proudly built it from the ground up and till this day still remain as passionate as ever. To answer the final part of your comment we recently change the lay out and the decor and until your comment we have not had one negative feed back in fact just the opposite the boot and the high table, especially the high table is the most requested in the Townhouse. We very much appreciate your custom we never walk way from negative comment so please if you do return ask for one of the owners and we would like to invite you for a bottle of wine.

I thought the food was very average and very expensive for what it was, I wish i had gone to sopranos instead.
The menu was very limited indeed and the drinkks were epensive.
Had a cocktail was not impressed at all with that and at £9.50 you want a good cocktail.
The staff appeared to take ages and they didnt seem very jolly or happy to be there .
Will not be returning

First time eating at this venue, read reviews and thought we would give it a go. Greeted by a pleasant man who was polite and professional. Ordered four Tapas dishes for lunch, what arrived was not what we expected and terribly overpriced for what turned up. As Tapas is one of our favourites when we eat out, we tend to know what will be served ,when you order certain dishes. Ordered Spanish Tortilla which is usually a small round omelette you can cut into four, what arrived on a plate was a small slice served with two cherry tomatoes, Patatas
Bravas equally disappointing as what turned up was a bowl of fried potatoes
with a drizzle of tomato sauce, not the lovely thick spicy sauce that normally accompanies this dish. The tiny amount of Chilli to accompany the Nachos was a real let down .Don't know if we just turned up on the wrong day but will not be going back. So overpriced for what they offered.

Booked a table to have some drinks before we went to eat, reserved the table over a month ago. We arrived and were stopped at the entrance and asked if we had booked, we said yes, and they finally found our table, however they said it was in the garden! It was Saturday evening and not particular warm, so we didn’t to decline their offer, they apparently then had nothing for us inside. So it was a bit of a let down. My advice to them is to make people aware when they book that they don’t have anything inside so at least we can make the decision before walking there. Luckily we went into the Guinea across the road and they couldn’t of been more accommodating and found us a seat inside no problem

Myself and my partner came to visit Tunbridge Wells and I’d already decided that the townhouse was somewhere we needed to come as it’s independent and looked really nice. We booked for bottomless brunch and although initially quiet, the woman who served us was very friendly and welcoming.
Half way through our brunch and a man named Victor took over our table and ensured we were always topped up with drinks! He was extremely friendly and moved around all the tables with ease (as it was now busier)
Cannot fault the bottomless brunch and the food was so much better than your average burger or eggs offering, the dessert cakes were incredible
Overall, would highly recommend

Booked a table of 2 for Saturday night. Glad we did. Shown to our table and ordered a cocktail and a beer for my partner. Ordered 5 tapas dishes and a bottle of wine. Was lovely. Food was more than enough and was served freshly cooked, hot and delicious. Would have liked some Calamari on the menu that's all. Finished with another cocktail and an Irish coffee for my partner. Can't wait to go back again with friends!!

We went for lunch today and were delighted with the delicious, freshly cooked food. We had pre ordered 2 ‘small’ paella between four of us. They were excellent but more than we could eat so the waitress kindly offered to box them up for us to take home. The tapas were also very generous proportions and very tasty. And a special mention for the large, melting Camembert with toasted bread and cranberry sauce.
The service too was impeccable, very friendly and charming staff.
We shall return.

Fantastic place and really great tapas lunch and service was amazing, highly recommended.
Also great selection of wines and drinks plus some lovely Spanish beers on draft.
The food was full of delicious gluten free options and the staff explained all of this well.

Authentic Spanish Tapas beautifully served in a lovely courtyard garden. a real treat for my birthday. I like the way dishes come in stages rather than all at once. Chris looked after us very well. We'll be back

Comeing from a familly surviving of a bar this is some of the nicest warmest and most wholsome expirience Ive had. The quality of service outshines every place Ive been to in London and even some in Italy and France. 5/5 from me no doubt would recomend to anybody. Also the only place that serves good coffee in the country been through most of UK and this was the first time I enjoyed my cup of coffee.
