The menu is diverse, french, english and American, so something for everyone, maybe not vegans. The staff are a little odd which is what makes it quirky. All in all great food and a very pleasant evening.

From reading the reviews we were expecting something better. Rather basic restaurant with average food. Service was good.

Having read the good reviews my friend and I decided to try The Allotment for lunch yesterday, Thursday 9th May. This was an expensive mistake. My friend's homemade quiche at £8.95 was soggy with burnt pastry and my Allotment burger at £10.95 (requested without fries)...More

I visited The Allotment for a friend’s birthday 60th party and I didn’t know what to expect, but the food and drink was top-notch. The lamb chops served with a divine sauce and sautéed potatoes and beans was succulent, perfectly cooked and there was plenty...More

Food quality ok. Access to table ridiculous. After meal reception area not child friendly. Abandoned after meal reception for beach front instead. Service slow and unfriendly

I have visited the allotment on a number of occasions but went last night to try their updated seasonal menu. I had Moroccan lamb cutlets and they were simply superb. The best lamb I've had in a long time. I would definitely recommend a visit.

The food is freshly cooked, and the atmosphere very friendly in this innovative little restaurant. I had smoked mackerel pate, and linguini with crab. Both were really well made and served with care. We'll be back.

Small car park at the rear of the Town Hall, opposite us on Ladywell Road. I believe it's free after 5:30 pm, but check the car park notice board to confirm this.
