We came for our first visit yesterday after a lovely day at Howletts zoo for Mothers Day. Sadly the day was ruined by dinner. We arrived at 4pmish and finally ordered 5 roast dinners after the waitress having to go back and forth to others as she didn't have the answers to some basic questions like is there a children's... As I am going to be away on mothers day next week, I thought to treat my mum and grandmother to a lovely mothers day lunch on the 19th march instead. Considering the old coach and horses is the best roast around canterbury, where else would I book to take them ?! I phoned and booked up and explained I... More

My Sister and I, have been coming here for a few years now, as a little treat for lunch or dinner. We've enjoyed the wonderful food and service each time, so much so, that this is the place where we take family, friends & neighbours, throughout the British seasons. We love the different floor levels for more intimate or larger... More

A little gem with wonderful food and people. The lamb and sticky toffee pudding is highly recommended! Check their faceboook to see what's going on -- there's a beautiful art exhibition with free entry this week xx

A friend and I went TOC&H for lunch today. We both had the same thing: Scallops to start and then smashed avocado with poached egg, bacon and yummy extras. The food was fantastic. Despite the room being full, the service was prompt and attentive. I'll be back!

My husband and I made a reservation for Sunday lunch after being recommended by family. The staff were great, really attentive and smiley however the food was not good. We both ordered roast beef and the beef was very good however the roast potatoes were burnt and the Yorkshire puddings uncooked. We were informed that the head chef was on... More

Visited the pub yesterday. Staff were great, and very friendly. Was considering eating. Food appeared rather expensive for a pub. Very small bar area. I like to sit at the bar. Need more bar space. On the whole a nice pub though. It's a pub I would visit in passing, not to make a special visit to

Having surprised our son by attending his CCCCU vs UKC varsity rugby match, we were in need of some dinner! Despite three generations and very short notice, the team here accommodated us. They kindly made variations to the Valentine's menu to suit. The food was exquisite, our table setting comfortable. Service was impeccable. We were thanked for our custom by... More

Went on a quiet Tuesday evening, we were given a friendly welcome and enjoyed a very good meal most of which had been freshly prepared. Pity we were driving as would have liked to check out some of the ales on offer, still next time we are in the area we'll take a taxi
