So many restaurants simply remove the relevant items from lactose free diets and the meal becomes bland and boring but here the staff went to great trouble to replace milk based sauces etc. They also remembered from day to day and didn't have to be reminded at breakfast or dinner One of the few week's away where I ate well... Restaurant is light, spacious & comfortable, with staff who know how to look after you. Whilst the size of the a la carte menu is not huge, there is a good selection to choose from. Presentation & flavours are superb.

Me and my partner went here for our tenth anniversary. The cocktail/champagne bar was nice and had a good selection of drinks The actual restaurant itself I wasn't too impressed with. It felt like a function room in a hotel which is basically what it was. I feel they could of done more with the decor to infuse some life... More

I'd never visited ABode before and I have to say it was the perfect setting for our specialy anniversary meal. From the moment we arrived to when we left, every detail was exceptional. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and accomadating and the ambience was just perfect romantic evening.

Having booked afternoon tea at the Abode, on contacting them I had informed them that it was my daughters graduation. I had requested if it was possible for them to do some special in keeping with the occasion. I was informed that they would arrange this for me. On arrival we were seated by a very courteous young man. The... More

Wasn't entirely happy with our rooms so was wondering if eating in was a mistake, particularly as the menu on display in the lift was a little truncated. The options seemed few. However, we were booked, I was tired after driving so we stuck with the plan. It was really, really lovely. We had blow-torch quail; smoked eel: duck terrine... More

We were given a voucher for this restaurant by our daughter and have finally found time to use it. We found the staff very friendly and knowledgeable . We had a 3 course meal, the main course and dessert was very good but we both chose the same starter of duck livers which neither of us enjoyed as they were... More

Lunch at ABode surpassed all expectations. A Fathers Day lunch. Where we all ordered roast beef that came with homemade Yorkshire puddings, roast pirates and perfect cooked vegetable eaten the most delicious jus you could wish for, just heavenly. For dessert we ordered the ingenious combo of chocolate mousse salted caramel combined with an apricot center that balanced the sweetness... More
