Instead of dessert have cheese or even better have cheese & then dessert. The cheese board is great. From the board you can select 3 of their wonderful artisan cheeses which come from the Canterbury Cheesemaker's stall at the Goods Shed. Cheese is thankfully not served with biscuits but with some of their lovely bread toasted. Before the cheese I had... More

Living in Canterbury, I believe we have dined here about a dozen times (or maybe more) over the years. Consistently good, always a market buzz if dining at the lunchtime sitting, a very relaxing place to be. My only problem seems to be the passing trains pulling into Canterbury West station. I can't stop watching the trains. I'm no train... More

Had a lovely lunch here with a girlfriend, who lives nearer to Canterbury than myself and so has been several times and recommended it. I arrived early but no problem, I was seated at the table and had a G&T whilst waiting. However on asking for a second was told they had run out of gin!! so opted for their... More

Had a business dinner here since it is usually quiet and they serve up locally produced food. We had a great time with really great and creative food. Pink martinis to start with... Great service as well.

Walking in to the Goods Shed (exactly what its name states) you are immediately surrounded by good food (fish monger, butchers, grocers, cheese mongers, bakers, delis, booze merchants etc ) and on getting to the open plan restaurant are armly greeted and welcomed. Food reflects the contents of the market, cooking is accomplished but not over fussy. Portions are generous... More

Although regular visitors to The Goods Shed for a brilliant shopping experience, my wife and I eat in The Goods Shed Restaurant only occasionally. Clearly, on the evidence of our most recent visit with a friend, we should patronise the restaurant on a much more regular basis. The three of us had nothing but praise for the food and the... More

It's definitely not cheap. But it is undoubtedly the best spot in Canterbury for a gourmet breakfast. A fabulously eclectic collection of comfortable restaurant furniture graces the light, bright and wonderfully-windowed dining area overlooking the bustling farmers market. Having missed our high speed train to London from the station right next-door we called-in to the Goods Shed for breakfast -... More

Popped in for lunch today with Girlfriend and her mum and thought it was an amazing building. Obviously an old Train/Goods Shed hence the name. Lots of produce to buy from meat to fish to veg to beer but also a restaurant up on the side. Food is high quality, well presented and good service. The prices arent cheap but... More

Lovely food as always. Lamb and hake. Not many places you can watch 4 guys playing board games and enjoying a few beers whist you eat.
