Very attentive and polite service. Excellent pizzas (Margarita and Florentine). Quite reasonable prices too.

My husband and I had a fantastic meal here on Saturday night. The restaurant is entered via a footbridge and the decor inside is lovely and creates a very warm atmosphere. We were greeted straight away and shown to our table. Water was brought over straight away. There is lots of choice on the menu. I ordered a salad but... More

Had lunch here is a group of 12 visting Canterbury for the day. Picked it from earlier Tripadvisor reviews and was pleased with the helpful response I got when I phoned to book for this largish group. Approached by a little footbridge over the river. Inside lots of old stone and wood beams, simple but pleasant decor and clean toilets.... More

We recently visited this establishment and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the wine selection excellent. I can certainly recommend.

21 of us had a birthday lunch here early September. We booked the upstairs room, ideal for a large gathering, also has its own bar. It is an old converted mill with bags of character, next to the River Stour. Parking is outside the restaurant but does tend to get busy. There are, however, several car parks within 5/10 minutes... Have come here twice now, once for date night the other for a birthday celebration. I have the Duck- not one way, but FOUR ways! It was incredible. Lamb to follow, which had to be the best lamb I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The wine was lovely, the atmosphere was spot on. Seriously, cannot fault this place

The food is excellent. I enjoyed my first visit that I came back to another amazing meal a week later. The restaurant was clean and had an enjoyable atmosphere. The staff was pleasant and attentive. So far one of the best restaurants I have been to in Canterbury.

I just don't understand why this restaurant isn't at the top in Canterbury. The location, ambiance and staff are perfect. The food has been consistently good each time I have been there. The wine list is excellent and adventurous. I have had several meals in the restaurant and never been disappointed.

We called in for lunch on Saturday and having chosen from the fixed lunch menu were impressed with quality, presentation and service. I can recommend this restaurant and will be coming back in the near future.

Thank Mark C

Cafe du Soleil is situated beside the river Stour in Canterbury occupying a former 18th century wool store and is accessed by its own bridge over the river. The building was restored with a grant from English Heritage and showcases the extensive use of reclaimed building material from the 14C city wall.

Our cuisine draws influence from Provence in southern France, and from Italy, to create a modern Mediterranean cuisine. The menu changes with the seasons, and much of our food is cooked in our wood burning oven, fed with locally sourced wood from managed forest.
