Lovely informal pub setting, and very friendly staff. Menu is pretty limited (5 starters and 5 mains) but the food is superb. Despite the somewhat limited choice, The forage influenced menu is innovative and really well put together and works very well in the relaxed ambiance. Good wine list.

Fun for a birthday lunch for 11 people, following a walk with The Foragers, which made the food all the more special as we were thinking of the provenance and flavours. Cant wait to go again

Sunday lunch is off the charts good. Great selection of craft ale and ales brewed on premises - see Slingshot. Food, beer (and staff!) all influenced by the foraging ethos. Superb service rounds off everything you'd ever hope for in a pub. Keep it up.

This Gastropub delivered more on service and atmosphere than it did on its food. There was certainly nothing wrong with what we ate but I was a little disappointed that it wasn't significantly different to normal offerings. I think that foraging is more of a theme than a reality, not that I am too sure what I was expecting but... More

We went here on Sunday just gone as we came to see some friends who live around the corner - we had absolutely no expectations of the place, but was very pleasantly surprised. Right on the corner tucked out of the way is this really nice place. 5 star hygiene rating (as shown in the window) and the staff couldn't... More

We were here with Friends last week and it was our first visit. The atmosphere and service were relaxed and friendly whilst importantly the food was excellent. I like the concept of the Foragers and the menu is certainly different to most in a the busy St Albans restaurant scene. Everyone in the group was pleased with their food and... More

Having received gift vouchers for our forage and feast we were not sure what to expect. Turned out to be a very pleasant experience. A good mix of people. A nice relaxed ramble through the woods with two entertaining and informative guides followed by a very leasurliy three course meal sat all together round a big old table. The food... More

I love the concept for this pub. But in writing that last sentence I realise it's unfair to call this place a pub. It is so much more. It is far more like a restaurant. The food was amazing. We had the mushroom fritters and cheese scones followed by back back ribs. Everything was delivered with amazing care and attention... More
