Very large Restaurant in Reading with a lovely small garden courtyard with a good number of tables. Food consistently good quality and well cooked. Friendly efficient service. The mid week set lunch menu at £12.99 for two courses is excellent value. The smoked haddock on spinach and topped with a poached egg was very good. My companions had fish cakes... More

I've been here many times as it is one of the few restaurants that maintain great service and quality of food every time we visit. We usually take advantage of the set menu that they have available during the week (2 courses for £10.95) which is a great offer. I had my birthday meal here yesterday and start to finish,... More

Food very disappointing, the sauce with fish parmentier was so cheesy i could have had mac'n'cheese. Large rooms gave it an ambience of quite pub with low volume music. Most staff friendly, but i think 12.5% optional gratuity should not be placed on the bill before you pay

Wonderful lunch. We sat outside in the back even though there is not much view the ambience is perfect. Very child friendly and delicious food. The steak and frittes are delicious and highly recommend. Not only tasty but very good value for money. Perfect food.

I have been to this restaurant a few times, and have never been disappointed. The food and service is always excellent. The last time we visited we were waited on by Eliana, who was both charming and informative about the menu, attentive whilst not in your face. This is a lovely restaurant in the heart of St Albans with a... More

Came with a friend for an early lunch. Very tasty chicken and walnut salad that turned out to be a very tasty chicken salad! We asked about the eponymous walnuts and were told they had accidentally been missed off. We were not charged for our coffees as an apology. Friendly staff and pleasant surroundings.

I came here with a group of colleagues for a celebration, foods was good however the service not so great. Having already visit there in passed where we had a great time, was very disappointed. I did state this in an email after our visit which was resolved. However, this hasn't put me off only that I wouldn't plan an... More

Our inspiration for the food and design of Cote is a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros of Paris. Inspired by new trends, we are dedicated to serving authentic classic brasserie dishes with a modern twist, using high quality produce at great prices. On the menu, guests will always find brasserie favourites on our a la carte menu such as steak frites, moules marinieres, corn-fed chicken from rural Brittany and tuna Nicoise, for dessert, Cote's creme caramel and creme brulee are much-loved house specialities.
Seasonality and Cote's commitment to sourcing high-quality ingredients results in a monthly changing specials menu, ensuring there is always something new to delight regular guests and gastronomes alike, as well as the excellent value set menu. Open early every day for breakfast, through to lunch and dinner; Cote's atmosphere is informal and friendly
