Worst pub quiz ever...fortunately only once a month. Only four tables last Sunday and I can see why...the chap in charge of the Quiz is absolutely awful. Simply the worst quiz questions ever. Please get a decent quiz master if you want to attract locals. The Queen Inn up the road sets the standard locally. The Wykehams's is definitely the... More

We visited the Wykham Arms on Saturday lunchtime with our Jack Russell (its a very dog friendly pub). We sat in the bar and I ordered the pan fried scallops and the Chalcroft Farm burger. Hubby ordered the Harlequin Olives and Ribeye steak. All the dishes were superbly presented and we thoroughly enjoyed each tasty dish. There is a very... More

Friendly and helpful staff helped the group to have a lovely evening with the food and wine helping the conversation flow, pity we are too far away to visit this great venue more often

This pub is in a good location and it's big inside! We went for a friends 30th birthday and hired a private room for a murder mystery event. The pub liaised with the event company and brought out each course at the time that was requested by the events company. We all preordered our food and every dish came out... More

Good service, pleasant food. Had a nice jerk quail starter that had a good level of spice. A good burger and my fellow dinner had a decent plate of fish and chips (large portion) . Neither cheap nor particularly expensive. It would be good in a large group. A lively bar with a good range or beer. Reasonable wine list.

This is a very historic pub off the beaten track in Winchester so you have to know where it is. I have been there when I worked in the city some years ago and wanted to revisit. It is very charming inside with lots of eclectic decoration and nooks and crannies. It serves Fullers beer which is why I wanted... More

Lovely looking pub, nice beer, nice sausages, but a bit snobbish. The barman didn't seem bothered with a non regular - no welcome, no smile. Worth walking beyond to the Queen Inn or turning toward the Black Boy where staff are friendly.

If you're in Winchester please visit this wonderful pub / restaurant / hotel. It's steeped in character, serves great beers and good food. You can enjoy sitting outside, or in one of the several rooms within this idyllic place. Try the Cottage Pie, it's amazing ! This is a must try !
