Great atmosphere, really good food, wine a bit price but good selection of bin ends. A real must if you like buildings with character.

Phew! Our faith in The Chesil Rectory has been restored having had a poor experience 5 years ago. As locals, we would definitely go again and recommend it to others. The staff were welcoming, smiley and helpful. The ambience in the downstairs restaurant is warm and inviting. Our waitress was delightful with a sense of humour. Overall a good experience.

This is one of the oldest buildings in Winchester. Lovely restaurant, for a special evening out. Good food, depending what you ear, it can be costly.

Booked for a Wednesday evening dinner at 7pm. Good welcome and shown straight to our table. Quite dimly lit so a bit of a struggle to read the menu but chose from the al a carte. Starter was very good, good size for a starter and very tasty. Bread was a little disappointing and expected it to be served warm.... More

We visited for a relaxed special meal after spotting this restaurant on a wander through Winchester and noticing it's claims to be one of the top romantic restaurants in the UK. Having been to Clos Maggiore in London last year we had high hopes and Chesil Rectory did not disappoint. It felt special but with a very low key feel... More
