We had a relaxed, jolly lunch. I had the smoked duck tapas plate which was beautifully presented and very delicious. We also had burgers and smoked haddock which all got the thumbs up - the courgette chips were a particular hit.Puddings of carrot cake and dark chocolate were fun - perfect for sharing. I had a wonderful gin and tonic... More

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It wasn't but they did. We have been to No.5 many times as we live round the corner. The food was always fab and never disappointed. We turned up with our family last night to be greeted by an overly complicated and unnecessarily fancy 'tapas-style' dishes. None of these were suitable for an... More

My husband and I came in for breakfast and requested to sit outside but we're told it was full - that's fine and completely understandable. However we then sat inside for 20 minutes without being served by any of the staff walking around, not even for a drink. Another couple then came in and requested to sit outside and got... More

Sunday lunched with friends yesterday- staff very helpful and such a tasty menu especially for my veggie wife - made very much at home in the court yard with our two dogs for several hours and nothing was too much trouble - even the dogs' water! Would definitely return when next in Winchester.

I stayed here last weekend as part of a bridal party. After a chilled dinner & drinks, we stayed here so we could all get ready the next morning together. The hotel rooms themselves are lovely (some are bigger than others!) and the facilities are nice, but our stay was dominated by extremely loud noises all through the night. Many... More

I really love this venue and go there a fair amount - it is one of my locals - but recently they've been turning their music up to a deafening volume. Having sat at the back of the restaurant as far away from the music as possible, I still found myself shouting at my dinner partner, and her shouting at... More

We went here with family at the weekend & although we had mistakenly booked the wrong day they were very accommodating. The menu is quite eclectic & not to all tastes but we had the roast beef which was delicious however as always when eating out we found the vegetables were quite hard. Our friend ordered the crab rarebit which... More
