Visited with family including a small dog for lunch on 23rd October. It was managed really well under the current circumstances. Ordering and payment was hassle free. Food was tasty and service was excellent!

Visited today 22 October 2020. Come over to Portsmouth for a short break came to dinner time ab thought we would try this venue for our dinner as it looked like a traditional old fashioned pub with character the sort we both enjoy. We got...inside and was greeted by a very hostile person who signed us in. Not very welcoming. Inside was very disappointing no old features and to clinical. We were shown to what only be described as a waiting room. We thought well the food must be good. Yer right. There was no traditional food just mucked about stuff which was very over priced.More

Popped in for a drink waiting on a boat trip. Doing well under the cloud which is COVID. Table only service and the waitress didn’t really know her beers.

Nice place, service was decent. Food a bit bland, but maybe I just have COVID. Tomato/garlic soup was lovely, pan fried cod slightly bland as I said, side (mountain) of seasonal veg lovely. Side of ‘triple cooked chips’, were not triple cooked. They were soggy...chip shop chips. This annoyed me even though I didn’t eat them. Again nice atmosphere and great staff. Menu needs richness, try marinading your fish the night before. Thanks :)More

Just been to see the Mary Rose on my birthday. Don't judge me! Wife was treating me lunch so I figured what could be better than a good English pub? Almost anything as it turned out. On the positive side the place is nice inside....Personally I like my pubs to be old, historic and dripping in character, none of which could describe the Old Customs House. Nevertheless looked at the menu, traditional pub grub, burgers and stuff. Then I saw the 'specials' menu. Confit of duck with a white bean cassoulet. Cool! I love duck. 2x confit of duck ordered and birthday lunch sorted. Sadly the dish did not live up to the hype. It was terrible. Dry pre-booked unseasoned duck of the type you may find in a Morrisons value meal (sorry Morrisons) really mega disappointing. If the manager replies to this review yes I ate it all because it was my birthday, I was starving hungry and my wife asked me too. Another day and that baby was straight back to the kitchen! A special should be special. Different to and better than what is in the regular menu. That is why you pay more as a rule for the specials. Because you assume the chef has taken the time and the trouble to choose fresh new ingredients and out them together for the delight of the customers. Yeah well not the case at the Old Customs House. Tasted like the chef threw some leftovers together because he forgot to go the cash and carry. To make matters worse although I was still going to just pay and leave, one of the staff tried to embarrass me for forgetting to put on my mask when I went to pay at the till. Won't visit this place again. Could've been epic. Low standards of staff friendliness and food let this place down I'm afraid.More

Couldn’t get past the main door- the chap was very quick to notice my mask had slipped down during conversation with him. Just wanted drinks but he seemed to say something about coming back at 12 for whatever reason. Guy would be better off as...a Covid Marshall for Asda than working in hospitality. Went to slug and lettuce round the corner. Definitely better.More

From entering this establishment we felt very at ease, every effort had been made in regards to COVID. Excellent friendly staff and fantastic service. We were lucky enough to have the chef's specials, Cottage pie and Shepherds pie, can't fault it! Very tasty and so...filling! Big shout out to this place 👍 will definitely return and would definitely recommend. 😊More

Dear Chloe, Thank you very much for your questions. I'm afraid we don't have BT Sport, sorry about that.

Parking at Gunwharf Quays is public and there is plenty of it (you can google for details) but it is expensive and is also chargeable in nearby streets.
