First time we we went there asked for a baby bottle to be heated. The answer was no. That was 2 years ago. Went there tonight. Asked for a bowel of chips was told they had got rid of chefs. About 20 mins later guests...More

Friendly host and spotless rooms. Wonderful view and good breakfast to be found at the village shop around the corner. Some renovations being done which look like they are going to be wonderful for the summer.

Ken ,our host, was very friendly, however this old pub is very much a work in progress. Should be much better when it's finished. Bed was comfy and clean but the carpet needed attention and the room felt sparse. It had a newly fitted en-suite,...More

We stopped off for a drink with the kids on the hottest day of the year so far. We sat in the ‘beer garden’ which is in fact a building site full of broken furniture and rusty nails sticking out of the so called seats....More

Great cosy little place this!! The food was amazing and the staff were amazing too. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone and they even had the Masters on so I don’t miss out on the final day of the golf! Brilliant stuff. Thanks again!...More

Despite the online menu examples , the menu we were offered was very very limited. Again online menu stated gluten free option for burgers...yeah , just no bun and I asked for extra fries instead but none forthcoming nor price reduction for lack of bun....More

I took my wife and mother for Sunday lunch, we arrived and placed our drinks order at the bar, then made our way to our table. We all opted for the Cauliflower Soup to start, which was lovely, after which things then went downhill. We...More

Having enjoyed Sunday lunch last year, we decided to return for Mothers Day. At the bar, no elderflower presse, no sparkling water, no squash. When presented with the menu it was a very reduced menu. Only soup and herrings for starters, herring not available. Main...More

I find it odd that one day after my review someone posted a review mentioning my post about the monkfish and did one of their own about the same meal. They highlighted my feview and mentioned only the very same things I complained about . I feel it is a false review posted to just disclaim mine. I am a well travelled reviewer and give an honest review as that is what it is supposed to be for. The proprietor well knows the conversation we had and his answers the were stated and were true. I am in the top 10% reviewers on trip advisor and always give an honest opinion which I am entitled to. The review above mine I’m sure was posted just to discredit mine . Bit of a coincidence do you not think that someone should post the review about the same meal the very next day about the same dish and entwining my review when no other mention of this dish has been on here before. Shame these sort of things discredit the use of tripadvisor
