Everything was just perfect - the food was imaginative and fresh, expertly cooked and served piping hot (not always easy to achieve in a party of 11), and the waiting staff were efficient and friendly. The restaurant caters exceptionally well for those who have to eat gluten-free (pretty much everything on the menu is available), as well as vegetarians (first-class... More

Six of us visited on Sunday 13 November for family celebration. It took 3 hours for them to serve us a basic three course Sunday lunch. It took them over half an hour to even take our food order. We had to call the waitress every time we wanted something such as another drink or desert. There was no apology... More

We had Sunday lunch here today and as a celiac I was so pleased that the whole menu is gluten free! The food was totally outstanding and plentiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely surroundings and tastefully decorated. Lovely spot for a walk afterwards so the whole experience was great and we will definitely be going back! Many thanks... More

We haven't been to The Amberley Inn in years but popped in as we had heard so many people saying how lovely it was. What a lovely spot. Fires were roaring and we sat in the oak paneled room enjoying our lunch. I had a monster rib of beef sandwich with the best chips I have tasted in years. My... More

We visited here today for lunch during a long walk. Very friendly, lovely surroundings, good service and good food. Dog biscuits were a welcome bonus for our companions.

Midweek evening meal out. A building of character with a lovely view. A varied menu with almost all of it being gluten-free. The food we chose was delicious and well presented. (Book for four during the week and you get a free carafe of wine.)

I booked for a Saturday evening early so was one of the first tables. The room was very pleasant, table immaculate. I thought the room could have had some soft music in background as when everyone is eating clattering cutlery and the salt and pepper grinders squeaked so badly it hurt the ears. I asked several questions about the menu... More

My sister and I chose to eat here today as it is dog friendly. We phoned beforehand to make sure that we could have the Sunday lunch menu in the bar and we were pleased that we could. We both chose the hake - it was beautifully presented with about five vegetables also cooked to perfection. We followed that with... More

Minchinhampton Common is a place of great natural beauty, and it is delightul to drive across the high heath and drop down to the inn. Our arrival was enlivened by having to share the road with a group of cows, which roam freely on the common. The hotel itself is a handsome Cotswold stone building nestling beneath the brow of...
