My husband and I have frequented this pub several times over the last few years both with our children (now grown up) and our dog and love the fact is is dog friendly. It is a very popular pub and at a weekend you need to book to ensure you get a table. The interior is lovely especially with the... More

We had a great family meal here. Large portions and friendly staff. A little busy but we arrived early and had a good sized table. Car park was full on arrival but it's great a small local pub is doing well

A very pleasant country pub with a mix of locals and travelers. public area in 2 halves: the area immediately around the bar has low ceiling and little nooks and crannies and a second area that has a higher ceiling and is brighter. Food is great with a nice range of day specials. Landlord/ staff very friendly. on nice days... More

Great place to walk to from Stroud. Top recommendation for the Chicken liver pate....OMG melt in the mouth...apparently it's a secret recipe not to be revealed!! Very fine fare and lovely service. We have never been disappointed with time spent here. Also dog friendly to boot. Highly recommended.

Myself and my husband stayed in nearby Painswick for the week and walked to this pub on Sunday 5th March and again on Thursday 9th March - both times having lunch. When we arrived on the Sunday, about 5 minutes after opening, all tables were reserved for lunchtime but we were squeezed in, no problem. On this occasion my husband... More

We had a very good experience last Friday, 6 of us went to celebrate my 3 year old sons birthday. The staff were very friendly and accommodating; they made a special dish for my gluten free son for his birthday. The food was very good and reasonably priced. I have eaten there several times and never been disappointed, well worth... More

Lovely pub, apparently only 3D sign in England?? Really good ales, great fire and snug, although it's a tight squeeze when it got busy. Anyhow the main event was a non event, the food was OK, that's it. Beef and ale pie was bland, if a little vinegary and the chips were like cardboard. Has a good rep. I don't... More

Booked a table for 3pm after our country walk, looking forward to a roast. We waited 20 mins for the table and a further 15 mins when we had to ask for a menu, at this point we were told that they were no longer serving roast. This was the whole point of our visit. Food - sloppy, salty and... More

We booked in months prior to our visit to the area as the reviews where so good and we didn't want to miss out, so glad we did as it was full, and it did not disappoint us, we had one roast pork and one roast beef, both were delicious, the service was good, efficient and friendly. when I went...
