Deserve to do well. Newly refurbished and very friendly. Dog friendly, staff incredibly helpful. Thank you. Also not too expensive in Stow.

We happened upon The Talbot as an option. It was the first day of trading under new management - Martin & Cate Clarke from 'down-under'. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. Child friendly. Dog friendly. Very much traditional English pub and eatery. No set menu on Day 1 but free tasters of the daily menu to those buying drinks. I'm... More

We were a little puzzled looking at the Talbot menu descriptions but all four of us found something appealing to order. When the food arrived we were amazed with the freshness and beautiful plating that we saw. The food was cooked perfectly and we had great sides. We all ordered something different and they were all delicious and beautiful to... More

We were only one of 2 groups in the place and yet the bartender acted like we were a bother. Never smiled, never said hello, never said thank you. We left quickly

Wanted to go to the oldest pub in England, but couldn't get in so we stumbled into Talbot. What a pleasant surprise! The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was superb, the steak was perfectly cooked, the dessert sublime, and the wine choices excellent. I could not have asked for a more superior meal anywhere in England!

Called in twice, ended up only having a drink, because when we were discussing trying the steak and my wife complimented me by saying we could always make sure it was good by cooking steak myself when we got home, the bar person overhearing what we said, instead of saying steak there was worth eating, told us where we could... Visited here today for lunch as a family of four plus the dog. The pub itself is lovely inside, and as soon as we walked in we were made the feel welcome. I ordered haddock and chips and I can honestly say this is one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. The staff were... More

We popped in for dinner on Thursday 26 May - a very quiet night - and were welcomed with very friendly service and good food. I had the slow cooked pork belly and it was delicious.
