We have eaten Sunday lunch here a number of times and the odd snack lunch which always has been good home cooked food reasonable priced. What a disappointment then on our recent visit. The steak and ale pie came with a bit of anaemia dry...More

Can’t judge the beer but by god the food is poor. Staff were similarly unhelpful. Bacon baguette - the bought in bread was tasty but the small scraps of bacon didn’t come close to filling it. Salad dry and tasteless. Stake and ale pie reheated....More

I used to be able to visit here 6/7 times a year, circumstances have knocked that back down to twice a year. There is still a warm welcome awaiting and a very friendly atmosphere. A good array of ales and food menu, certainly keeps me...More

Had the Pensioners roast chicken special. Plenty of chicken slices, roast potatoes, five veggies and a stuffing ball! Beautiful food, too much for me, and at £5 a veritable bargain.

Had a pint of Buttcombe Bitter - nice pint. Nice pub feel, but was a bit of a football pub, if that's your thing.
