As this was the first cafe we came across after walking from the car park, we decided to have lunch at the Village Tearooms. The interior was very very dated, the minestrone soup was like a gloopy gravy and horrible but the service was fine. This has been our only visit and we won't return.

Went here today for an afternoon tea. I really don't no what the scones were made out of but they were disgusting, really gritty and left an awful taste in your mouth as did the clotted cream. I do not drink tea so decided to have a hot chocolate instead and unfortunately that was particularly nice either. We asked to... More

A well positioned tea room offering a range of hot and cold food, the interior is pretty shabby but clean. The menu has enough to satisfy most, but I'd hoped for home cooked food or locally sourced products, but the hot food was certainly freezer to oven to table, that said it was fine and averagely priced. The key to... More

This was ideal for a light bite at lunch time - there was a good choice of food at reasonable prices. The majority of the waitresses were friendly - unfortunately there was one rather abrupt lady who was unhappy about people waiting for the toilet in the narrow corridor - obviously they need to get by with the food and... A very traditional tea shop with union jack bunting. Despite being full the service was quick and friendly. Lunch was good but sold out of apple and rhubarb crumble - shame.

Most awful food served my friend and I have had in the two years we've enjoyed our ladies day out together. My friend had a cheese salad which consisted of a pile of cheap grated cheese, a couple of bit iceberg lettuce, two slices of tomato and two slices of cucumber at a very expensive price. No bread which I... More

The lady waiting the tables was lovely and polite. The scones and tea were delicious. It was so nice to sit in the sun, relax and watch people stroll by. Only downsides, there is a minimum of £10 to use your debit card and The Village Tearooms is the most expensive cafe for cream tea at £6.50 (which we didn't... More

Extremely poor tearoom I am sorry to say, like something from the sixties, Bourton on the Water is a beautiful place, called The Venice of The Cotswolds with lots of tea rooms, cafes and little gift shops, what a shame there are places like this still around, Because it was extremely busy and lots of the eateries were full, we...
