Simply wonderful cuisine. The staff were friendly and attentive without being in your face. They bake all their own bread daily and it really shows!

Having done some research on restaurants in Rye, this place jumped out. We were staying in Camber which is short drive away. We managed to get a booking albeit 6:45pm , not our preferred time, but happy to actually get in. The restaurant is easy enough to find and the staff were pleasant and very attentive. Myself, I ordered scallops... More

We spent an enjoyable Friday night in the Landgate Bistro. THe food is locally sourced and seasonable. The restaurant was busy on a Friday and therefore it's probably important to book ahead.

We ate here during our stay in Rye and we were not disappointed! The restaurant is intimate and the food is fabulous. We had friendly and prompt service. The fish is super fresh and the wine list is comprehensive and varied. In terms of price, it's at the higher end of what you might expect to pay for in the... More

Had some really good food here recently. The portions are not huge, which really suited me but my husband wanted a little more. All the courses were well cooked and the service was good. Be aware that the restaurant does get rather hot when it's full so it may be uncomfortable in hot weather. The meal was a bit pricey-... More

Food and service very good, but portions smaller than we expected - we thought some vegetables might have also been offered. Very nice thought

We both had fish pie. The main course arrived in a 100 mm diameter bowl with some decorative vedge to the side. To be honest no more than a starter. The pie was very salty and had little fish. When asked we said we didn't enjoy the food. No response from the staff serving just the bill. The worst £15... More
