Quality ingredients combined with an imaginative menu provide a great experience from a traditional pub. I like the modernised interiors and the service was friendly and relaxed. Great views from the patio over the Rye marsh when the sun is out. There is also a...More

We arrived in Rye on a Friday evening and headed for the Plough (family of four). All left happy, full and contented. Staff were nice and friendly. Would definitely visit again when next in Rye.

We came as a family to this delightfully quaint 400 year old building that is now a pub restaurant. They were very busy and I can see why...the food was wonderful! Only one thing that wasn't so great was that we had to wait to...More

The plough came highly recommended and we booked a table in advance. Good thing we did since it was very busy. Sadly we were let down at every turn. With only five dishes (two vegetarian, one fish, and a beef or lamb roast) several of...More

A family friendly pub serving tasty local food. My husband said it was the best fish and chips he'd ever had!

As we were a party of 16 walkers we had pre booked our food. The tables were ready laid when we arrived and after ordering our drinks we did not have to wait very long before the food arrived. The food was very good with...More

Four of us shared some tapas to start which were all very tasty. The cheese and chorizo frittata was lovely as was the rabbit burger. Nice pub with a lovely outdoor terrace. Very welcoming with good service.

We took my mum for her birthday being her first visit. Usually the quality of the food is pretty darn good but today must have been an off day! The whitebait were excellent but the patatas bravas were so overcooked they were black! Both my...More

Took us a while to find the pub due to our map app, so we arrived mid afternoon and very hungry. The landlord and barman couldn't have been more welcoming, and within 20 minutes of our arrival we were eating delicious tortilla and salad, sage...More

This restaurant is easy to find on a main road. It has an outside terrace with good views where you can eat but we chose to go inside. It was a weekday lunch so the restaurant was not busy and parking was easy. The service...More

The Plough is a quintessential English country pub with stunning views from our pond side garden over the Brede Valley with the sea as a backdrop. Situated on the Kent and East Sussex border and less than two miles from the medieval town of Rye, we enjoy a fantastic larder of local produce, from the freshest of fish landed in Rye and Hastings every day, to the wonderful delights from the Romney Marsh such as lamb and beef as well as the best of seasonal vegetables. With all this on our doorstep, we offer a good choice of local beers, ciders, wines and freshly prepared food, from our tapas, to our original choice of freshly prepared dishes and our homemade ice creams.
