Such an amazing old building to stay in. Stayed in Hythe room and could not fault it. Good choice of ale, wine and food. Good choice at breakfast, lovely coffee. Very busy pub with good atmosphere. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Can't really add anything that hasn't already been said. Will be booking to go again next year. Thanks... More

Scallops , lamb, ambience of a 15th century pub, service makes it a winner! Very cozy atmosphere where you can see renovated parts naturally integrated with historic parts of the building. True gastro pub!

Lovely looking pub but more gastro than pub. Amazing chicken wings to start with fish and chips to follow. Nice fresh food.

The best homemade chicken pie! Great atmosphere, gets busy so book ahead! We had a cost corner table by the fire! Perfect for a cold, rainy November day!

Lovely food, great service, cosy pub. We were welcomed and looked after very well. The pie is particularly good as is the Romney Marsh lamb.

I was recommended the Standard by several people in Rye. Great place full of atmosphere with exposed brick walls, beams and pillars where walls have been removed to make a bigger space. The food is very good, your order at the bar, they will keep a tab, and service is quick and friendly. The selection of wines and beer are... More

Nice asmosphere with reasonable food from a smallish menu. Was there over Halloween and well decorated.
