Visited a few weeks ago, ordered for two people and received plenty of food. Great service from the waiters, at both point of entry and when sitting at our table. The food was delicious, I was presently surprised as Hastings does not really have many halal restaurants and therefore I did not expect such high quality and great tasting food.... More

We ate here on Saturday 20th August as a party of six and had a lovely meal. I so enjoyed the little pre-starter soup which was a nice touch and very tasty. I then ate the king prawns starter which was excellent, followed by the Goan fish curry, again, this was beautifully flavoured with fresh tasting herbs and spices. The... More

The food was lovely cannot fault. However the service was very slow, everyone was kept waiting. The waiter blamed this on the restaurant being unexpectedly busy as only a couple of tables had been prebooked.

We have visited this restaurant many times and it still titillates the taste buds the menu is as good as ever. My Lady is a vegetarian and finds plenty of choices and the wonderful Fruit Salad is worth sampling. As Indian cuisine goes this is one of the very best and the staff are as always very affable and super... More

I have eaten many, many Indian meals over the years (and dined extensively elsehwere). This was quite simply one of the best I've had. I couldn't fault the meal, service or ambience. Well done Jali! (I do wonder whether the couple of people who rated this poorly were dining at the same restaurant......)

I recently visited Jali Restaurant with two work colleagues. We were greeted by the two waiters upon arrival and shown to our table, the service was very good and the food was also. I had a prawn starter which was very nice then followed up with a Monk Fish main, lots of it in a lovely sauce. I would not... More

Had difficulty in finding a decent looking restaurant in Hastings and came upon Jali on way back to our hotel. It was early evening and we had a table in the window over looking the sea. This is proper Indian food (no non Indian sauce/cream here). A good selection available at reasonable prices. The service provided by the waitress was... More

I really like their Indian food, Jali was simply the best Indian restaurant that I ever tried. Staff is super friendly and explain all the dishes before serving them. A very Indian food experience. Pana puri and the chicken masala are definitely worth a try.

Description
Small but perfectly formed Jali is a refined Indian restaurant set within the landmark Chatsworth Hotel on the seafront at Hastings. The smart menu, which has won an AA Rosette, fuses traditional dishes with modern techniques to produce elegant dishes such as marinated prawns in tomato gravy and a rich, spicy dum biryani.
