Great coffee, cake and meals, excellent staff. Safe to say they also do the best mini shortbread biscuits in Robertson Street.

We went for coffee here during our visit to Hastings. My wife's attention was caught by the poster in the window about their training programme giving opportunities to people with autism. Very friendly place with great coffee. The only criticism comes from my wife in that the coffee cups were a little on the small side!

After shunning this location since moving to Hastings, for no rational reason, it has now become possibly my favourite local cafe. This is largely because it is spacious, relaxed even when busy and oftentimes lovely and peaceful. It is the one local cafe that, for me, provides an atmosphere conducive to sitting down and having a good long read on... More

I haven't been to cafe des art for over a year and was really looking forward to their delicious hone made soda bread, which was the absolute best thing on the menu. I was very surprised to see their menu was not as varied and interesting as it has been known to be. The soup of the day was tomato... More

Thanks for the review. Having not orderd anything or spoken to the THREE staff and TWO volunteers that were working on your visit.im not sure how you can call our soup or menu boring?? We do have an everyday menu that our regulars like to choose from which includes our award winning bbq beef brisket ciabatta what a shame you... More

We regularly visit the area and always make a trip to Cafe des Arts in Hastings. We are both dairy free and today's vegetarian breakfast of avocado with a very special lightly sweet and hot sauce and scrambled egg on toast is superb. Don't restrain it to breakfast it makes a great lunch too!

We like to support the independent cafes. This one is run as a business and social enterprise - providing training and work experience for people with autism. They also use fresh locally sourced ingredients. So a double thumbs up for us. Good cafe menu with a selection of light meals and sandwiches. We had a ploughman' lunch each and there... More

I was so pleased to see people with autism working in the cafe and being taught properly by the woman. The cheese scone was delicious. The new frontage is good, but I was sad about the shabby interior, is it really necessary to have three different chairs at one table and one was mended with what looked like blue pillow... More

First of all part of the staff is autistic but they are all very nice. the food was nice and the prices were reasonable. it overlooks a church and it is rather quiet even if it's really close to the main shopping area.

This is used to be a really lovely cafe with comfortable Chesterfield chairs and a relaxed vibe. For some strange reason the new management have replaced the lovely chairs with a selection of old mismatched hard chairs. They have also increased the prices. It's such a shame that they have spoiled a unique well loved venue.

Still a lovely cafe with all the same values.the decor is down to personal taste.the parts of the menu that have changed have gone up in price.however coffee drinks and cakes have all remaind the same. More
