Great Fish and Chips and Friendly Staff

As we were in Brighton we decided we had to have Fish and Chips before getting the train home - looked on here and Bardsley's got good reviews so we made the walk up. We were squeezed in as we didn't realise it was somewhere you could book but sitting next to the cooking area meant we got to... read more

Bardsley's has become a bit of an institution in Brighton and gained a reputation of being the best for miles around. From my experience over the past few years, and recently prompting this review, I have come to the conclusion that they are trading on this past reputation, as the food is far more expensive that other fish'n'chip shops, the... We ate in the restaurant and found it to be fast and friendly service, not cheap, but worth what you pay!

This is definitely the best fish & chip shop in Brighton. My wife and I visited earlier this week, they were just about to close for the afternoon, but were happy to accommodate us and served up a brilliant haddock & chips. Excellent fresh fish, delicious chips and all the trimmings. Brilliant.

Went to Bardsleys my favourite fish and chip restaurant for a charity event last night and it was fantastic. The service and food was amazing. Well done Bardsleys and for supporting such a worthwhile charity BHT.

There isn't one thing special about this place. It is pretentious, expensive, dull and the portions are a joke. It is okay!

Been meaning to write a review for this place for a while now. Live close by and have been recommended to go for quite some time. Staff are incredibly friendly, food is fantastic and not greasy. Personally I'd say it's the best fish and chips I've had. So is their curry sauce!! Highly recommend

Brighton is a strange place in that once you get off the sea-front it is quite hilly. Bardsley's is only about half a mile from the station but you have to go up (or down) a sharp incline to get to it. The chips were good, but the Haddock I had... Wow, best I've ever tasted. Really fresh and obviously... More

We'd checked this restaurant out on Trip Advisor before leaving our home in Kent for Brighton. It came out very well so we thought we'd give it a try. It's a bit more off the beaten track, but well worth it. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food superb. It was nice to be in a traditional... More

The restaurant is a little far from the sea front but well worth the detour for an excellent fish and chip meal served with a smile.
