Completely exceeded expectations. Worth the walk up from the waterfront. The food was fantastic (plaice on the bone yum) and the staff were very attentive

Really friendly ladies on reservation and waitress that served our table. Great they served wine / beer with the meal. Pricing was competitive £30 for two ..including drinks Mussy peas great....Fish fantastic (thick, flakey and a good size). Chips under cooked and limp....a disappointment truely. Tartar sauce was watery...check standard and go to McDonalds ! Location is a full mile... More

A jewel in Brighton;s Crown. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is fantastic, The service was great, The food was well served and nice and hot. Bardsley's might not be on the sea front but well worth a visit, I have to say the fish was fresh and local. Loved it the best fish and chips. The staff... More

Easily Brighton's best fish and chip shop. Great tasting batter, fresh fish, great chips, always friendly service. Just a shame they don't sell cream sofa anymore : (

This place does the best fish and chips in Brighton without a doubt. The restaurant had been in the same family for decades and it shows. The food isn't cooked by uncaring teenagers - it is cooked by people who know what good fish and chips taste like. It's not the cheapest but worth every penny. Their fish is always... More

We have visited Bardsley's twice in the last two weeks and on both occasions we found the food to be of a high standard and the service good humoured and excellent. I have had cod in batter and my wife halibut and then skate (both grilled without batter). All the fish was of a high standard and the chips, mushy... More

I don't get how this was so bad. Well reviewed mostly. First destination when we arrived in Brighton. Had to wait a while for our meal which is fine, as it's freshly cooked...great. Drove down to the beach front to get stuck in only to hear from my wife that for small cod and chips medium did and chips plus... More

My family and I love this place. Not only are the fish and chips delicious, but it's always buzzing, lovely atmosphere and the staff are incredibly cheerful and helpful. They also provide fish without batter and gluten free options. A pleasure whether eating in or picking up a takeaway.

My family went here on a Saturday lunchtime. The portions were a good size, I would only order the medium, and the fish was excellent. I had haddock, my wife had plaice and the kids had cod. The service was very quick and friendly. My only criticism was the chips. I found them very ordinary.
