It's not often that you can go to a restaurant, get a huge portion of delicious food, and spend under a tenner! They managed to fit a big group of us in the tiny restaurant, and the food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Nobody had to wait very long, even in the large group. The staff are lovely... I've been to Pomoko numerous times, and have had some really good food there. I particularly like the Ebi Don and the Prawn Nanban Don. Extremely cheap for a meal that really fills you up and tastes good too. It's quite a small place, but really cosy inside.

If you like Japanese food, you'll enjoy this place, and if you like cheap prices, you'll absolutely love it. Most mains were between £5-6 and you can get a huge bag of prawn crackers for £1.50. The service was excellent too - can't have been more than 10 minutes between ordering and the food coming to your table. I'm in... More

Went here today and enjoyed the food as usual. Very cheap with most things around £5. My personal favorite is the teriyaki or the tori Chilli don. Both amazing. Make sure you visit if in Brighton!

Tasty, authentic Japanese food served super fast in a tiny and slightly cramped setting. Gyoza are amazing and better than Wagamama's up the road. More than £1.50 cheaper too. You can find all the favourites - rice bowls, dumplings, noodles, soups, even unagi and octopus. Definitely not for those with tons of shopping or a pushchair.

This place is a bit of a Brighton institution. Don't be dismayed by the usual queue out the door - turnover is quick. I have never waited more than 15 mins or so. You can also order to take out, which I have done and walked down to the beach to enjoy my food. I really can't fault this place.... More

Pompokos is a great lil Japanese restaurant in the UK. We love visiting Brighton purely to visit Pompoko, it's a lovely cheap restaurant with decent size portions - you can easily get a main a side and a drink for less than £10! Well worth a visit, whether you sit in the cosy dining area or take the food away... More

The food was absolutely amazing and the price was perfect for the portion that you got. Next time I'm in Brighton, I'm definitely stopping by Pompoko again!
