Old fashioned tea room serving a wide range of teas (the coffee machine was broken on the day of our visit). Lovely fresh scones, cream and jam with a selection of toasted sandwiches and English breakfast. Located in the Lanes with old jazz music playing in the background I will visit again on another visit to Brighton.

Taken here by my Son and his friend, what a lovely spot. We sat in the courtyard garden with shrubs and flowers tumbling down the walls sparrows hopping around hoping for a few crumbs and the sounds of a country village Not the busy city centre outside. The choice of teas is wide and as for the cakes yummy. I... More

What a wonderful little cafe. Delightful in every way. It is very small, but there is upstairs and a courtyard. The staff are very warm and accommodating and nothing seems too much trouble for them. Even though it is busy, you don't feel rushed, you can relax and enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea.

Had the most delicious eggs & soldiers at this cute cafe last weekend. Lovely location in Brighton, upstairs and downstairs seating. Cute back garden and loo. Recommend.

I've visited Blackbird on numerous occasions to meet with friends for a catch-up or celebrate a birthday. I would recommend the cream tea...ooh, and a Prosecco on the side! Friendly staff too.

Beautiful old house with several floors and a small outside area.We had homemade soup with a lovely homemade bread, followed by scone and a chocolate orange cake which was superb.Service was pleasant but a bit slow. It was lunchtime but they need more staff to cope.Dog friendly, even giving our dog a bowl of water.

We went there fore the afternoon tea experience. Overall, the experience was nice. A really beautiful old house and proper cutlery used. Will send you back in time. Service was also nice and friendly. But the afternoon tea set is nothing special. Tea was good, but maybe i just don´t get the scones. Sandwiches were ok, but all the sweet... More

I think this is place that is better for teas than for lunches. On previous occasions we have had really good cakes and scones but lunch was disappointing. A real shame as it is a lovely place. The service was very slow today but that may have been a blip.

Lovely little tea room. We had breakfast there. They have a great offer on breakfast and the food was delicious.

Description
Recently awarded the accolade of "Best Tea & Cakes in Brighton" (Brighton Source Magazine), Blackbird Tea Rooms with its quintessentially English traditional style, has become the favourite retreat of lovers of good old fashioned quality and service. In addition to our traditional tea and cakes we also have a wide selection great breakfast and lunch dishes (see website for menu). We are very busy all day both Saturday & Sunday and therefore are unable to take reservations for the weekends (sorry).
