Popped in here early evening to sit with old friends and catch up over a beer and get out of the horrendous wind! The Royal Sovereign in very welcoming, lovely fire and comfy chairs. Good selection of beers and very polite bar staff. All in all a lovely place, we shall return!

As a dining group of friends, we like to try different pubs for their Sunday roasts and meals. We have been here for drinks several times and decided to try their Sunday roast. The staff were very accommodating as we were quite a big group. Service was efficient and staff helpful. A member of our group had a dog with... More

We spent a few hours here on the way back to our hotel on a Saturday evening. I used to visit "the Sov" many years ago when working in Brighton and it was a great pub then, and it's even better now! The interior has been completely re-designed without compromising on the warm, homely atmosphere. Despite being the wrong side... More

I needed a beer and this place was closest! At the bar I discovered that they have Sharps Cornish Lager which is one of my favourite beers so we ended up staying for quite a few of those! At this point, we decided that lots of beer and no food wasn't going well so we looked at the menu and... More

Nice pubby pub in amongst all of the more clubby pubs and bars of Brighton. Off street garden / smoking area at the back.

A bargain! 2 courses at £5.95 from an extensive lunch menu deal. I had an excellent prawn Pad Thai (4 in the portion at no extra cost). Gas log fire adds warmth and atmosphere. Friendly barman and wifi. What's not to like? I will be back. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub, just found the music a little loud. Arrivedcearly evening so felt it could have been turned up later, made it difficult to have a conversation between my friends andmyself.

Have been coming here over the years and it used to be a venue for a great Sunday roast. Glad to report that it is again! Homely large portions cooked to perfection, very enjoyable. Add that the staff are friendly and impeccability professional, a good range of fine ales and wine and you have the recipe for a very satisfying... More

Popped in here for a wee dram on Saturday night with the hubby and really chilled out. DJ who was a bit quirky ended up playing some really good tunes so had a little sit down boogy. Maybe a little dad dancing from the hubby! Staff were friendly and it seemed to be fairly popular but not too busy.

Excellent choice of craft beer, even if on the steep side, with a fantastic ambience and decor both inside and out.
