If you are serious about pizza, 500 is the place to go. Other reviewers have had difficulty getting in - it isn't huge - but we had no problem getting a table at about 7 on a weekday evening. The premises are I believe an ex-garage. We sat outside on rough hewn tables and benches under the railway viaduct which... More

Went after friends' suggestion. Took the ham and mushrooms pizza. Really great taste and reasonable price. Well mannered, polite and efficient service so i don't know how the impolite or rude staff accusation stands. Ended dinner with scoop of choco-hazelnut

We went to order a takeaway pizza. A request was made to omit olives and add chillies. I was told that this wasn't possible as there was a new chef on duty. When I asked to just take olives off and forget about the chillie request I was told that I could pick them off myself. I then asked to... More

Friends had been recommending Pizza 500 for a while. Got the folks visiting at the moment - on their way to Brighton, a guy on the train mentioned how great the pizzas are. We normally head into the North Laine for something to eat & rarely head up Preston Park way - but couldn't resist trying something new. Fantastic atmosphere,... More

After spending a busy day moving in to a new flat I thought I would order a pizza. All the shops were shut as it was a Sunday so I thought I would give this place a call. The lady who answered the phone was really nice and had a pleasant manner. I asked if I could add extra garlic... More

Great pizza and fun little place to sit in. Local and friendly. Not posh but authentic and welcoming.

In terms of the Pizza this place is 10/10 with authentic pizza made fresh by true Italians and the price is very good. The location and layout/decor of the restaurant leaves a little bit to be desired but we normally get takeaway anyway. Finally the service I find hit and miss, the owner Leo when present is very attentive and strives... More

I've eaten a lot of pizza in my time and I've been through most of the pizza restaurants in Brighton and hove. In my opinion, Pizza 500 is by far the best. The combination of a tasty thin base with not too heavy a crust with fantastically fresh authentic Italian ingredients is just perfect. The only negative is that it... More
