I ve been to this restaurant several times and the standard of food remains high. Bar staff are superb at cocktails. Last time I had an expresso martini which was very good. This visit I had a Puritan - Delicious.

fantastic evening with friends - had to book in advance because it is such a popular place but absolutely worth it! the restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere and ambiance, and the service all the way through the evening was terrific - attentive but not overbearing. we had an early sitting but the waiter found a table for us in the... I visited plateau with my partner and was looking forward to trying the sharing platter. We weren't disappointed. The food was cooked to perfection and the choice of wines was excellent. The only downside is the restaurant is very small and some of the tables are right by the door and you will have a constant flow of people walking... More

Cool joint, Friendly/joyful staff, REALLY yummy food + local bubbles = 5/5! We stuck to the specials board but it was no problem when we asked for a few tweaks. Such a good night!

We have dined here before on a previous trip to Brighton, so we were keen to try it again. It didn't disappoint us. The menu was interesting, the food quality was first class and the service was excellent, even though the restaurant was very busy. Everything we had found attractive about this place was repeated. It's not cheap, then good... More

Great place to eat. A tasty menu, good interesting wine list and fun staff who know wine, food and cocktails. Had a meal here with some family and friends. It's located in a busy part of Brighton in the heart of the town. The place is small and cosy but fast good service. Really impressive food and some really unique... More

Well worth a visit if you are in Brighton. Thoroughly enjoyed the food (scallops to start, followed by steak for main - both were delicious) but the evening was let down by the service we received. As an example, it took at least 15 minutes for us to have to opportunity to order drinks and another 15 mins for them... More

This is a little gem in Brighton. Excellent food..the steaks are incredible. The atmosphere is very cool. Excellent staff, they all know the menu and they all know their wines. The wine list is exceptional. Really friendly and a great place to pop in during your shopping for a cheeky cocktail!

Been several times. Being resident here, my partner and I eat around Brighton a lot. This is the 'go to' place to take friends to showcase Brighton's cuisine and service at its best.

Went here for a romantic dinner with the boyfriend. Im vegetarian and hes not very adventurous. The waiter was superb, very professional and friendly, answered all our questions thoroughly without making us feel silly. The wine choice the waiter advised was spot on and, my non-adventurous boyfriend ended up trying ox tongue! (Which he loved) Here, you really have to... More

Independent bar à vin, restaurant & cocktail bar based in The Lanes, BrightonWe are a unique bar à vin & restaurant with a passion for great food & wine. We have put a great deal of time & love into selecting our wines. At Plateau you can discover interesting & affordable wines that you are unlikely to see on other local wine lists. Our selection is mostly natural with some biodynamic & organic examples. We have sourced wines from local Sussex producers to renowned names & newcomers. To soak up the wine we serve ‘bites’, small dishes perfect to share or great as a starter. Follow your ‘bites’ with a ‘plateau’ to share or a 'plat' & that’s our dinner experience… although don’t forget dessert! Our chefs source organic, fresh, local produce as much as possible.Did we mention the cocktails? They’re probably the best in town & although we don’t serve Carlsberg we do serve some pretty imaginative beers from around the world. We have some top quality spirits, including some rare rum, whisky & cognac…and I almost forgot, keep an eye out for the ‘cocktail de la semaine’ & ‘beer of the moment’.There is no set way to visit Plateau, you can match the wine to the food or the food to the wine. Pop in just for a drink, a few bites or a three-course meal – the idea is that you do whatever suits you.
