Amazing kitchen in Brighton, you can go there with closed eyes. Very good food, with an accurate menu and an accurate wine list ! Very well recommended and it is a French connoisseur who is writing that ! Main courses, cheeses platter and dessert are fabulously good !!!

We had heard this place was good but it exceeded all expectations ! Lovely small pub environment in a little quiet street . Fantastic quirky begin with small plates . I tried the chorizo donuts with a cheese topping ! Wow !! Yum yum yum . Then had pie if the day and friends had steaks all great again .... More

We organised a late lunch reservation on a Monday and were worried as we were the only people in the place. I honestly do not understand why as the food is so amazing I would expect a place like this to be packed constantly. Perfect appetisers of ox tongue and chorizo doughnuts were incredibly moreish, as was our expertly arranged... More

We almost did not find the restaurant after walking around the neighborhood, but it is worth looking! The meal was a unique take on many favorite dishes with fresh ingredients and some gourmet flourishes. We were too full for dessert but took a box of truffles home which was just perfect.

It looks like a classic, old corner pub but it has lots of character and a nice welcoming feel. It also has a restaurant. There is a good menu, craft beers, nice friendly service. What else can you want?

Recommended by my family this place offers either a very reasonably priced set menu for dinner or or a la carte a bit more pricy. We had the asparagus soup and cottage pie which were awesome. My son had a rib eye steak medium rare which he thought was excellent. Staff were lovely and friendly too. I'd definitely go again... More

Visited here for a 25 year school reunion - the venue was chosen actually because it had been a regular haunt at 18 (maybe before) but the private dining experience was excellent. Wonderful food - particularly the steak and triple-cooked chips. Good range of wines and beers and excellent service. Will definitely be going back for a more conventional experience... More

... Excels itself yet again. Having heard mixed reviews we decided to try for ourselves and can say ... 5 star definitely. Lovely staff and great menu choices.

For a pub this place has astonishingly good food. Not a massive menu (which is a good thing) and very fresh food. I was so impressed with my guinea fowl main course which came with burnt sweetcorn puree (a slightly unappetising sounding accompaniment which was absolutely delicious). Also a guinea fowl doughnut which was also delicious. A very exciting menu... More

Friendly efficient service, well cooked food. Worth the walk from town. We are often stuck for places to go to with good food when we have our dogs with us. The nice touch of water and a biscuit for our dogs was appreciated! If I was to be "John and Greg" critical the tongue nibble was a great way to... More
