4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Had a fantastic mushroom, spinach and halloumi burger here and the service was really friendly, as it was throughout Durlston Castle. Just one frustration - they had a couple of seafood options but both were sold out at lunchtime, would be nice to see more fish when this close to the sea. It was also a little overpriced - just... Stunning views from outside seating, therefore excellent for morning coffee, afternoon cream tea etc. Rather more ordinary decour and views from inside. Even on a reasonably nice July day a bit windy and cool for eating cooked food outide. A great place to stumble on when on a longer walk, but as a lunch destination it was a bit disappointing.... Live locally and often stop here for coffee or lunch. The food is always very good, as is the service. Our evening meal was no different and I thoroughly enjoyed the risotto on offer. We had our dog with us,so sat away from other diners. One of the waitresses very kindly offered to take our puppy for a quick walk... More

We called in for coffee but were tempted by the reasonable priced lunchtime specials as well. We enjoyed the mushroom and goats cheese wellington with chips, followed by a lemon posset with raspberries and shortbread, whilst appreciating the sea views from the terrace. There are plenty of opportunities for a good walk along the cliff path and through the wild... More

This used to be THE place for fish and but sadly no more - only fish and chips and a snack of smoked salmon on the day we had lunch. The restaurant now seems to be run by a catering company and serves fast food with few staff. I have eaten here many times over the years (and written 5... More

Had a really nice lunch here with my mother in law about a week ago! The food was very very nice! We only had a panini and chips but the herby bread that they make the paninis with made it amazing, please dont change this! We also had a slice of passion cake which was to die for! Thanks for... Husband and I came here for lunch on a perfect sunny day. We sat outside looking at the sea and the distant views of the Isle of Wight. We both had cheese, ham and tomato Panini, which came with a lovely salad and crisps. We really enjoyed it and would really recommend stoping of here if you are in the... More

We stopped for a coffee but couldn't resist a large slice of Dorset Apple Cake served warm with a large dollop of Ice Cream. We were very warmly greeted - which means a lot, especially, as it was the end of what was probably a very busy day. The highlight of this enjoyable visit was sitting on the outside veranda... More

We had a lovely lunch today. My husband granddaughter and myself. Delicious roasted pepper/tomato soup with warm chiabata bread, and fish and chips. The fish was so fresh the batter light and cooked to perfection. The staff I have to say are excellent. Very friendly helpful.
