I booked a table of 5 for lunch 27th Dec. Not surprisingly, the Deli was very busy. We had a lovely lunch, home-made Parsnip soup, sandwiches, rarebit, real chips, with nice white wine -sauvignon blanc, local beers & cider. Our waitress was lovely, if a little novice, she coped very well with the packed space and lots of requests. The... More

Visited Turnbulls and had a most enjoyable light lunch. Helpful and friendly staff and excellent food from a good sized menu.

Popped in for solo late lunch snack. The Welsh Rarebit with poached egg and a fresh salad was gorgeous. Good coffee too. I always spend more in the deli than expected.

Stopped for a coffee while exploring the town. The coffee was excellent and from my seat in the window I watched the world go by. But by being attached to a deli rather than a bakery there wasn't the usual selection of tempting pastries. I was also a little annoyed that I was charged full price before 11.00 when a... More

We stopped having no real knowledge of Shaftsbury Interesting space, lots of goodies and great cheeses. We had soup, which wasn't really tat hot and did taste of classic bought in soups. The coffee was great.

The staff are helpful, e.g. my drink was not hot enough (I'm fussy) and they immediately changed it.

I hope it was just an off day when we stopped for cream teas yesterday at Turnbulls as our experience was much different from the reviews already posted! The waiter was inexperienced and inefficient he left two cups for three people, one cream instead of two, two knives instead of four, and only two serviettes! This was unfortunately topped by... Really nice tearoom with fantastic cheese selection and a deli shop. If you are in Shaftesbury you have to try Turnbulls especially if you're a cheese lover. Fantastic friendly service and it oozes quality in in its products and service. Highly Recommended.

Found this place by chance when visiting on Thursday. What a great find, lucky Shaftesbury if I lived here I'd be in all the time. Excellent staff very patient and efficient, we came in with lots of kids and milk shakes, hot chocs and coffees all got the thumbs up. Food looked great, amazing cheese counter can't wait to return... More

Description
Our deli serves the best cheese for miles, where we showcase the pick of local classics such as Montgomery and Dorset Blue Vinny, plus the finest examples of the European Greats. We stock cheeses so good, so extraordinary and perfectly matured, you'll taste the difference in every mouthful. Turnbulls Bistro serves seasonal home made lunches with many dishes under £10, made here by us with carefully sourced local ingredients. And our coffee, well, it's Great Taste Award winning, and our hot chocolate special is renowned in playgrounds from Bath to the Jurassic Coast.
