La Caverna was recommended and we were not disappointed. The entrance at street level is a little odd but the eating area is downstairs and is charming. The food is delicious, the service is speedy and friendly. Save space for the profiteroles, they are yummy. Better to book because it's very popular!

Been here quite a few times-it's round the corner from the fabulous Plaza cinema so very convenient for post-movie. The chef is Sicilian and the Italian menu is very varied-delicious meat and fish of the day as well as pizza and pasta. Nibbles are provided free and then I had pasta stuffed with ricotta and spinach, served with mushrooms, to... More

Firstly, ignore first impressions. Parting the anti-fly chains and stepping into a well lit, slightly sparse and usually empty bar area, you would be forgiven for thinking, what the hell is this. Continue down to the cellar restaurant, where some mildly humorous but charming 'Italian' decor awaits. BUT. Do not let this put you off. The food is absolutely delicious.... More

I'm a regular visitor. All the meals I have had have been great. Try and save space for the profiteroles!! Lovely cosy ambience and great service.

We enjoyed a very good Italian meal in this delightful Italian restaurant in a cellar with a curved brick ceiling. We had starters and mains and a glass of the house white wine each. After we had ordered we were brought bread and three small dishes with olives, oil and balsamic vinegar and small fish (anchovies or whitebait?) My starter... More

Me and my boyfriend come here for special occasions like birthdays and anniversary. It's a cute Italian underground cellar with a romantic feel. They do excellent steaks and always cook it very well. Lovely service.

It,s nice to go to a family run ( Sicilian) Italian restaurant. Very well cooked, generous portions, friendly service set in a cellar underneath a quiet residential street. Try the specials which feature locally sourced ingredients cooked with Italian flavours and style.

Food was absolutely outstanding. I had panzerotti for starter (on special board) my husband had the carpaccio. For mains we both had a fillet steak which was great but slightly overdone. Ordered medium/rare and got medium to medium/well done. As it still tasted fantastic we didn't complain. Otherwise we would have sent it back. For dessert we had the zabaglione... More

As ever superb food , good menu choice, lovely setting downstairs in vaulted cellar, unrushed service, ask to see the specials board. at 7:30pm there were already about 7 covers, but not quite full. Booking is recommended.
