A very pleasant and enjoyable Italian lunch over looking the beach and rollers pounding in. The food was good and lots of it so very worthwhile making the trip down to the Alum Chine. We had a nice window table as it wasn't warm enough to sit outside. This is our friends favourite restaurant in Bournemouth and it lived up... More

We called in whilst out for a walk this morning. Manager was quite rude when we said we just wanted a drink. Waitress came to take our order and i asked if they had fruit tea. She went off to check and came back with a few to choose from so i made my selection and everyone else ordered coffee.... More

Visited Vesuvio for my husbands birthday, while we were on a sort break in Bournemouth. Lovely restaurant, food very good, staff attentive and right next to the beach

An excellent looking place to eat right on the beach. I only stopped for a coffe but the menu looked nice and the staff were very friendly and professional. Might have to go back to dine.

I am often full of praise for things I review on trip advisor, but this restaurant is a shambles. I used to come here when I was younger, about 10 years ago, but it has changed for the worse. The location, granted, is good, but the service is beyond poor. We waited 45 minutes for a tasteless Panini, fast food-style... More

Came here for valentines day weekend, I've never had such good service, they placed us somewhere quiet and we had our dinner within 20 minutes of ordering it. Food was outstanding, go to so many Italian restaurants and this is the only one that actually had the taste of Italy! Would recommend to anyone!

This is a difficult one because the food was good but there were just not enough staff. The staff there worked incredibly hard but they didn't stand a chance. The only person not rushing around was the manager. We ordered olives to start but they arrived with the main course. The spaghetti vongole was superb but the calamari was only... More

Love Vesuvio as it's situated right on Alum Chine Beach and has a great outdoor patio area to sit in, with outdoor heating to keep the chill away. Pizzas are fresh & plentiful and there's nothing better than getting wrapped up warm, seating under a heater & drinking a good glass of pinot grigio as you watch the tide roll... More

Family meal here, what a wonderful find. Fitted us in at short notice and still we had a good time. Real traditional Italian food and extremely good value for money.
