This pub is in an ideal spot for those that want peace and tranquility. Nice setting out in the sticks. Bit too quiet for us as once you have had a couple of sherbets you are very much a captive audience. Food was excellent as was the service. Two sat navs in the car failed to initially find the pub,... More

Great menu- I'd particularly recommend the salmon and prawn salad, Sunday lunches and ice-creams. Good ales, lagers, ciders and wines pleased the diverse tastes of my family. Friendly and efficient service.

Have to say can't find much fault this time round. Booked an early evening meal with the kids. Warm welcome from the owners who provided the kids with some colouring books etc to keep them amused. Decent food, piping hot calamari starter which went down a treat as did the lovely scampi and chips all washed down with a couple... More

Visited for a drink on a lovely summers afternoon where the kids played in the river which was lovely. Also had dinner here, managed to get the last table on a Tuesday night which shows how popular the place is. Upon walking into this lovely old rustic pub the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was lovely fairly simple... More

Happened upon this pub by accident as it's somewhat off the beaten track down long, windy and extremely narrow lanes! Received a warm welcome from all staff and ordered a roast vegetable lasagne and a beef and able pie. Both were superb; the lasagne being one of the best I've ever had with also the nicest garlic bread and salad.... More

The title says it all, after 56 years on this planet it goes without saying I have got myself on the outside of many a pie with Steak and Ale being a favourite. The home made every day pie at the Waterman's is, without any shadow of doubt, the best I have ever tasted, and unless I can mimic it... More

We came here on an evening after climbing Tors. We were hungry and tired and the food came fairly quickly and was fairly nice. We sat outside to enjoy the sunshine and sorting by the river was entertaining with the swans, ducks and canoeists. We were disappointed that they'd ran out of sticky toffee pudding but we did get there... More

Very disappointed having visited today. Surprised lunch doesn't start until 1230 in the summer but it what it is... having ordered we received the wrong order, despite handling the sand which by us to check contents and eat a few chips, it was duly collected and given to another table. Once the order arrived there was nothing very 'club' about... More

On our first day of holiday we came to this pub because me and my family are vegetarian, and I specifically googled this place and we drove here because of the range of veggie options available. I ordered a vegetarian lasagne, very specifically and when it came to the table the waitress said 'vegetarian lasagne' as they do and I... More
