I went the the Elephant as opposed to anywhere else and had a lovely fillet steak which was very small and ended up paying £22 and never even had any potatoes with it I enjoyed the experience but will go next time to the London Inn and get one for £10.50 with a beer included

A really great place delivering brilliant food accessorised with a very good drinks listing and delivered buy extremely well trained, smiling & obliging staff. A huge car park on its door step (a major plus in this neck of the woods). Not a quiet place. but definitely one of two really outstanding restaurants in Torquay.

We were really delighted by the presentation and service of a really creative and varied menu. I ordered a Pigs Cheek starter which looked and tasted amazing, as did my main course of Hake served with a White Bean & Pancetta Sauce. Both really delicious and highly recommended. I felt far too full to even contemplate the pudding menu. (... More

Visited this restaurant last evening and although we hadn't booked were pleased to be seated straight away. The service was acceptable but not as professional as on previous visits when we had the opportunity to dine upstairs. I had the beetroot and goats cheese starter followed by lamb, both passable but also both disappointing and I wouldn't order again. The... More

Thank you for taking the time to write. As you pointed out The young child on this evening was unfortunately very loud and as much as we can advise parents we cant actually tell the child to be quiet. When bookings are made guests don't always tell us if they have children with them and when they do we try... More

We booked a table here for our 25th wedding anniversary. We were staying about 30 minutes from this destination. Quality place, food and staff. The menu is al a carte and the price reflects this. It is as you would expect. A great experience. There is public pay parking opposite.

We happened to go on a Friday when they had a great steak or fish main course offer. The service was outstanding and the food delicious. Even the A La Carte menu seemed reasonable. Would definitely go back for more wonderful food!

Service is great and the interior is very nice with close parking at the harbour. My friends with me commented that, "The quail scotch egg was lovely, worth having as a nibble or starter". Duck main was very well received. I had the vegetarian options (goat cheese and beetroot starter and open lasagne) but didn't enjoy them, not by fault... More

Still overrated in my view. We went, without booking to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary . I ordered Lobster. £38. Although some of it was delicious, a good portion was under cooked and struck to shell, chewy when some prised off No one came during the meal to check out. When we had finished, the waitress asked if all had been... More

Wonderful, welcoming atmosphere and exquisite food. My partner and I tried the tasting menu for a celebration meal and were concerned we would be out of our comfort zone in a posh restaurant but the atmosphere was laid back and elegant, and didn't feel intrusive or intimidating at all. The food was amazing and the whole experience was very memorable.... More

Visited on a Thursday night for dinner, food, service and atmosphere were excellent, we couldn't have asked for a better meal experience. We couldn't manage a dessert as we were too full. The portion sizes are ample and there are three different menus to choose from, so something for everyone. Well done to Simon and his team, in particular Errin,... More

Description
Two restaurants under one roof, situated on the picturesque harbour of Torquay in South Devon. The Brasserie and The Room offer two different but equally tasty dining experiences, where we take advantage of our beautiful, and fresh local ingredients and of course, produce from our very own Southdown Farm, Brixham. The Brasserie is family friendly and is open for lunch and dinner Tues - Sat, with an amazing value for money set menu available all week and of course some daily specials. The Brasserie is open all year round and seats up to 55. It's situated on the ground floor of our Georgian terraced building. The Room at The Elephant is our Michelin star awarded restaurant for the 9th consecutive year and offers an exceptional fine dining experience that cannot be missed! We are currently serving a 7 course tasting menu, with an optional cheese course from our British cheese board and the meal includes tea or coffee with petite fours. We also offer an optional matching wine flight for each course which is a great way to have an all round gastronomical experience.
