We visited as a party of 11 on Friday evening to celebrate a 60th birthday. Not your usual Michelin starred decor/ambience but food was lovely. Can recommend the Crab and the Scallop starter dishes as our favourite courses from the tasting menu. No side plates...More

We ate here last night and quite a few times since it opened. The food has always been fantastic and never disappoints. Staff are very attentive and polite. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for that extra special evening out.

Nice enough but nothing special. How does it merit a Michelin star? Food rather bland. Service fine but charge imposed anyway. Probably a bit more special if seated upstairs with better views.

Had Duck parfait to start, beef fillet and bream for mains then chocolate fondant. Excellent food well presented and not rushed. Staff friendly and helpful. Only reason for not giving maximum score was that a bottle of riocha appeared on the bill, as it was...More

Called in here on a day trip from Brixham, and had a really lovely lunch from the set menu (£21.95 for 3 courses + service charge - which I don’t like but is becoming the norm). The food was all excellent and naturally was beautifully...More

Both my wife and I went there on Saturday to celebrate a birthday. The staff are professional, the food was exquisite and the wines were fitting. Will definitely return. Well done all, much appreciated.

The Elephant is a bright, informal restaurant which overlooks the beautiful Torbay harbour. It was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. We aim to source all our ingredients locally and sustainably, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham. Please feel free to ask our front of house team about anything you are unsure of. Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy. Food is cooked by a talented team of chefs and served by friendly, professional team of staff. Diners can enjoy a delicious à la carte menu and set menus featuring local and sustainable fish, meat and vegetables, sourced from the surrounding area, in an informal and attractive setting. For an extra special culinary treat opt for the tasting menu. Expect friendly and knowledegable service without the formalities. All our dishes change regularly depending on which locally grown and reared (many sourced from our dedicated farm) ingredients are at their best.
