I was staying in Torquay for a few days and found this place on web. Thought it was my kind of place and checked opening times to find it opened at 16. 00 hours. Walked 1.5 miles in rain to arrive at 17.30 and found it closed ! Very disappointing.

This popped up from trip advisor without any prompting so I thought you had better be updated. Have just returned from Torquay (18 Aug 2015) so I can report that the Meadfoot Inn no longer exists. However, the premises have been refurbished and renamed the Amber Inn because the outside décor is now in that colour. There seemed to be... More

Having been there in 2005 and 2010 when visiting on Saturday afternoons the pub has always been friendly and well worth a visit.. This time, we were unaware of the name change or change of opening times (i.e NOT open) when we arrived at 1pm. No information in the windows or on the door so we chose not to go... More

When we visited, the bar had just undergone a bit of a refurb and had been rebranded as Stumble Bar. The drinks were pricey but maybe that's because it isn't a doubles bar. On arrival it was extremely warm inside and with about 20 people inside it was full to the brim. Although it was friendly enough there was very... More

Was greeted by both barmen on arrival which was a nice touch. Nice and comfortable surroundings with none of the usual 'stop talking and look at the new people' things that usually go on. Prices are about right for the area and music is loud enough to be heard but doesn't intrude on your conversation (should that be what you... More

Friendly atmosphere. Liked the bar games on a Sunday evening. Mixed crowd which helped keep the pub from becoming a cliche. Some colourful characters. Would visit again.

My new favourite place in the universe.... Such an amazing place. Robin is a great landlord and the way the pub is decorated.... Wow!!! I asked what it's like in there at Christmas because as it is now it feels like Christmas in there! Robin said you can't imagine the loft has more. Defo coming back at Christmas. It's so... More
