I have been here many times, and every time has been wonderful. The food is very reasonable considering it's a more upmarket place to eat (£12-15 for a main). It tastes divine, I have worked my way through the menu and every dish has been lovely. The staff are very polite and nothing is ever too much bother for them.... More

Came here to celebrate my daughter's graduation. Superb meal for all of us. They change the menu often which is great as you never know what you are going to get. Staff very helpful and friendly. My daughters pudding came out with Congratulations written on the plate which was lovely touch. Will definitely be back

Booked online table for nine, and the manager, Nathan, phoned me to check our requirements - a lift, accessible seating for grandparents with difficulty walking. On the day, an unexpected extra guest arrived so I phoned to leave a message requesting an additional place, Nathan called back within 30 minutes to reassure me that all was sorted. The waiting staff... More

This was recommended to us by Anne from the Sea Breezes Guest House, where we stayed. It was absolutely worth the money. The food was excellent, the wine great and the service spectacular. Knowledgeable, quick, funny and friendly. And again, the food. An absolute must in Plymouth

We visited Barbican on a Saturday evening while on a long weekend break in Plymouth. Located on Southside Street, the main through route, in the Barbican we walked from our nearby hotel as there is very little parking available in the neighbourhood. Taking advice from Tripadvisor we booked a table and this proved to be a sound move as the... More

We went to the Barbican Kitchen to celebrate my niece starting Uni. It was a treat to have relaxed but spot on service in a comfortable contemporary setting. Steaks were perfect, my Hake with linguine was a fish dish with a difference and the Haddock Risotto was voted A1. Desserts were delicious, I had the Salted Peanut, Caramel and Chocolate... More

The most recent visit to Barbican kitchen was for a small family get together with aunts, uncles and cousins who live locally in Plymouth - so us Midlanders could catch up. We had a great evening and enjoyed excellent food. Most of our party of 11 people chose the lemon sole but I decided to go for the calves liver... More

Pre booked on line to be told had only booked for 1, when had booked for 2, but they could fit us in! Artisan bread started-lovely, veggie burger & fish and chips. 2 small pieces of fish with heavy batter and skinny fries. Waitress asked if would like another drink, took order but never arrived. Not bothered as a table... More

We were recommended to come here by friends who live in Plymouth and said they had never had a bad meal here. They were right. The location is excellent with the ability to have pre-dinner cocktails in the Plymouth Gin distillery bar before being moving to your table also located in a separate part of the distillery. Great choice of... More
