Popped in the other day on a Saturday, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. We had booked a table, but there were tables available. Surroundings clean and quite nice, staff were attentive but not hassling you. Food was nice. £120 for four meals, desserts and a few drinks, I think you could get better value nearby. Handy... More

This was our third visit to the Barbican Kitchen and I've always held back from reviewing them thinking that for one reason or another they were having an 'off night' but this last visit will be the last one! Table booked for 8pm, arrived at 7:50pm, not shown to table just pointed in general direction, a jug of water was... More

My girlfriend and I came here yesterday for our anniversary. We booked for 7:30 but arrived 15 minutes early and they still managed to accommodate us. We ordered a lovely bottle of White Zinfandel rose, probably the best of this variety I have ever had. The waitress was very kind and catered for my dietary requirements, always topping up our... After an amazing day in the sunshine the evening was finished off by what I could only describe as amazing food. Between the four of us we tried a variety of different starters. My friends had the haddock risotto which was truly brilliant and the chicken liver parfait with soda bread which was presented beautifully. I had the salmon gravlax... More

It's easy to see that the people who run this place have gone to effort. Excellent room, very good service, if not effusively friendly, and excellent meals. Make sure you book as it filled up both nights we were there - midweek. If you get there before 7:00 you can order from the set menu which was sensational value. So... More

We were here for a Saturday lunch. We expected it to be busy, maybe have to queue or maybe not get in at all. But, in fact, it was very quiet at 1.15, only three or four tables taken. Maybe Plymouth doesn't do Saturday lunch! We have been here several times before and it is definitely our 'go to' place... More

We eat here a lot. It's always relaxing - food is just the right portion size for me - I don't like having a full plate. The food is fresh and clean looking on the plate - absolutely wonderful front of house lady whose name I forget now - she adds to the overall dining experience. If you go for... More

Enjoyed lunch here prior to a university graduation. Really faultless in all aspects. All 4 of us ate from the set lunch menu which was fantastic value considering the quality of the food. Everybody enjoyed the meal. The service was great and efficient and everybody was friendly and enjoyable. Lovely location and good atmosphere. This was our first visit, but... More

To be honest I was expecting good things, the setting is nice but that's it. The food menu was uninspired and when the food itself arrived it was pretty bland looking and taste wise not a great deal better. Just a so so place and I will not return.

We have visited the Barbican Kitchen at least three times over the last five years and every time we have been served the most delicious, economical meal. My partner is Veggie and I am a meat-eater and we are both catered for satisfactorily by the menu - the deserts are to die for!
