Very simple but well prepared fresh fish. Staff were very friendly. Small but welcoming ambience. Lovely option for the barbican.

My partner and I came here for a bite to eat at lunchtime and we weren't disappointed. I ordered the seafood paella, which was very good. The sea food in it was well cooked, and the rice/sauce itself was very good too. My partner had...More

Tried most restaurants in the Barbican area over the space of a few weeks during a vacation, this stood out. Not flashy or fine dining, but good honest well cooked locally caught fish. Had the lobster which was delightful and huge and a fraction of...More

Very small place, you do feel a bit claustrophobic but the food and service are good. The menu is a little pricey considering you are sat on top of each other and somewhat limited.

We visit here, regularly and, without doubt, it is always the best fish and chips you could wish for. It's all fresh and cooked to perfection. Generous portions abound and crispy chips compliment the fish. For a fantastic dessert, try the home-made tiramisu.

Platters stood out as a unique offering amid the plethora of generic-looking restaurants in the area. It's cosy atmosphere, welcoming and efficient staff, and generous selection of delicious fresh food made the visit a joy. The packed tables were a testament to its value.

Visited here last month. they made us very welcome, and fed us well. Scallops were magnificent, as was the fish and chips. The fresh crab salad was equally as good. They have a great selection on the catch of the day. Service was good, and...More

We went here because we'd been told it was good. They didn't lie....it was a great experience. There are no fancy frills here, just good, fresh, beautifully cooked seafood, and just as importantly, very accommodating staff. We arrived on a Friday, not having booked, but...More

I have been in here eating when kids or gnarled affable fishermen have come in with buckets or baskets of fresh fish.

Whatever the management response to this question, one of the joys of Platters is that if the table you need is not immediately free then they invite you to nip next door to the Dolphin for a pint or over to the real Food... More

They have a couple of steps up from the pavement and inside the door there is very little manoeuvrability because of the narrow gangway. The benches and fixed tables on the right may be difficult to get into. The smaller... More
