This was my fifth visit to The Chancel and is one of those places that you can always return to for great food, reliability and friendliness. On this occasion 3 of us shared tapas. A very good choice with a mix of seafood, meat or vegetarian dishes. Good sized portions. We 'managed' to squeeze in a dessert (creme brulee) to... More

Fantastic food and attentive service. I've been multiple times and the atmosphere is great no matter how busy. Never had any complaints on the food. The wait isn't too long and the candles are a great touch too in the evenings.

A small, friendly restaurant in the heart of Plymouth. We had promised ourselves to pop in here one day and, when we got around to it, we weren't disappointed. Staff and manager were all welcoming and made the extra effort to ensure our meal was enjoyable. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Ive visited the Chancel quite a few times, and every visit the food and selection of wines is top notch. The friendly staff and management make it easy to sit back and enjoy the banter from other tables. I would rate it as one of my top 3 in Plymouth! Keep it up guys

We wanted a great meal before boarding the ferry to start our holiday. We could not have found a better place. The food is good, the service cheerful, charming and effective (we kept to a specified timetable). Good value too. we shall certainly return.

We walked in without a reservation, a family of 5. Very nice welcome. Very nice and tasty meals, good recommendations of wine by the glass. Good value. We recommend.

We dined here on a Group Surf and Turf deal and upgraded to the fillet steak (£5 extra). It was absolutely delicious. Paid extra also for the Diane Sauce but this was very disappointing and tasted rather packety. Ended up not eating it and to be honest the steak was so tender it didn't need a sauce. My main gripe,... More
