5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW via mobile

Ate upstairs here and had the 'small' cod, chips and salad. It was not small! Not that I'm complaining. Delicious flaky cod, really good chips and the salad was good although it was mostly rocket, would've liked a bit more of a mix as there was only about 2 spinach leaves in it. Really good plate of food for the... More

Would really like to have rated this as a 4 star or even 5.....but second visit today where young member of staff looked like she just didn't want to be there. Last time it was the same where we were grunted at and the chips slung on the counter as us in their trays. Young girl again that time. Shame... More

The fish and chips are an absolute to eat, you can have a small fish and chips if you do not have a large appetite, no grease no bad aftertaste, sit upstairs in the new extension, lovely and welcoming staff, a place not to be missed

Found this chippie by looking at which one had the biggest queue. Friday tea time was busy but easily handled by the young friendly staff. Fish was soft fresh and surrounded in light batter. Chips fluffy hot and non-greasy. We sat upstairs and we're delighted with the service. Great place. Don't miss it. 😃

Possibly the best fish and chip shop I've ever visited, best fish I've ever tasted, has to come straight from the local fish market, chips were light and fluffy, service was friendly and efficient, the down side is that the shop is possibly a victim of its own success being that it's extremely busy so there was a bit of... I have been several times and each time it just gets better :) The light crispy batter on the fish is heavenly. I had the mushy peas for the first time, I could eat them all day long. We took a stroll up to the hoe with ours, what better an accompaniment than delicious fish and chips on a lovely... More

Visited this week. Cod beautiful as were the chips but too generous a portion. Home made mushy peas were excellent too. Only slight let down were the mugs of tea. It tasted very strongly of chlorine or plastic, possibly the water, and we left most of it. Strangely the young waitress asked us how many sugars we would like and... More

You can't beat a portion of freshly cooked hot chips and a walk by Plymouth Sound on a crisp winters evening or to take them in the pub nearby, which is one of the few to allow you to bring in your own food. I've been going here a few times a year since 2012, and the chips are always... More

Tried this a while ago, so on a mild winter evening, walking the hoe. Called in again, had fish and chips. Freshly cooked and tasted great, nice and simple food, competitive and good service. Will be back 👍
