I called into the Fisherman's after many years for an early evening meal at about 6.30. The service is great and the Christmas menu is in a Christmas card which is very natty. I went for the 2 course meal option at £14 was really filling. The Prawn, Crab and avocado starter was amazing followed by the Turkey pie -... More

We went to this pub twice in the space of a week- once for Sunday lunch and once for an evening meal. Great food both times and crazy value- don't opt for the large Sunday lunch unless you're absolutely ravenous! (my mum has trouble with the kids portion!). Perhaps the best thing about the place is how nice the staff... More

I had lunch and a few beers with friends from my old school. Good choice on the menu, and I left well fed and watered! Sentimental, because my drinking career started here 50 years ago, perhaps a couple of years before it should have done! Probably several changes of landlord since then.

A cosy little pub find for a lovely lunch. Staff were very friendly and inviting, and the food was extremely good. Worth a visit when in Plymouth Barbican.

The Fishermans Arms quite rightly describes itself as "real hidden gem". Located within Plymouth Barbican this pub serves excellent beer with a smile. If you are looking for a traditional pub away from the busier Barbican area then this is the pub for you.

A snug pub with a good choice of real ales and ciders. Proper fire going in the winter adds to the charm. No loud music or TV means you can have a conversation. Can get crowded but still worth a visit.

My 15 year old son and I from USA were visiting my daughter and her family. My Son-in-Law booked us a Sunday Lunch at the Fishermans Arms. I really wasn't up for fish on a Sunday, but surprise, surprise, the offering was a full blown choice of Sunday Roasts; Beef, Chicken or Pork. You have your choice of small or... More

This is the pub we always call in to when we visit my daughter who is at Plymouth Uni. The Sunday roast is excellent value with two different price/size options available. If you choose the large you can have all three meats on offer ,if you want. Great variety of vegetables and everything was beautifully cooked. Good selection of beers... More

Description
Pleasantly situated overlooking the Barbican, the Fishermans Arms is a country pub located in the middle of Britain's Ocean City. Real ales, a warm and friendly atmosphere and excellent food. The food is good quality and great value. Reputedly the second oldest pub in Plymouth (grade 2 listed), we are steeped in history and have one of the last surviving remnants of the original Plymouth Castle.
