I came to this place which is situated on an extremely cute street, with friends on an extremely sunny day for cream tea. The lady who served us was so friendly and welcoming, and led us through to the garden which was beautiful in the sunshine! We didn't wait long at all to have our tea and scones brought out,... Found this little place on New Street in the Barbican tucked back behind the main harbour street's stores. Tucked behind endless rows of tea & scones/fish & chips, etc. is a little street leading to an Elizabethan garden. The hostess was gracious to show me through the restaurant to where the garden rests high above. I liked the look of... More

A warm welcome. Excellent full english breakfast and we were offered replacements for the items we didn't like. This is extremely rare. Tea or coffee and toast included. we will definitely go back.

Had a great afternoon tea with so many cakes to choose from. We have been to this cafe many times and the food is always good and good value.

My husband and I visited on Saturday afternoon after the rush,we sat in the garden area as the weather was lovely it was so peaceful you wouldn't believe that you were surrounded by a busy area. We ordered traditional cream tea with scones and a ploughman's roll. It was all served very nicely with different patterned chinaware. Everything was very... More

Tudor Rose tea room is, undoubtedly, the friendliest on the Barbican. Tucked away in the middle of New St it has an enviable location right next to the "hidden" Elizabethan Gardens. The food is delightful and Sylvia and the crew are not only friendly but most welcoming. Definitely, a must visit!

Arrived in Plymouth Friday last only to find that at our BB they no longer provided breakfast and so we went looking (ten of us). We came across these tea rooms and their notice said All Day Breakfast and so I (we) walked in where we were approached by a lovely member who asked if she could assist. Here I... More

I have been here many times. It is tucked away in a back street on the Barbican and well worth going to. It is a quaint tea room that has a secluded outside area that is a real sun trap. They serve snacks and main meals and delicious cakes and scones. We were greeted by the lovely smell of home... More

We wanted something small, intimate and picturesque for our wedding reception and the Tudor Rose Tea Room was perfect. A great selection of savoury and sweet foods, a warm welcome and a gorgeous backdrop for photos in the room itself as well as the gardens outside, it really captured the essence of the occasion. Everyone was really impressed with the... More
