We sat outside in their lovely garden and had a beer or two. They had a couple of singers playing a few tunes and it was very chilled. We drank a few of the real ales and they were very good. There only appeared to be two people on duty and it was a bit chaotic. Still a good place... More

Visit for a few beers and to decide whether to eat at the Rock House during several days away. Some good St Austell beers on tap so we enjoyed a very sunny afternoon in the garden, which is unrivalled in the area. The barman seemed to be the only person pouring, run off his feet due to the good weather... More

Visited with my sister on a day trip after a long journey from Plymouth we stopped to have a latte after 10 minutes we were informed that the coffee machine wasn't hot enough so settled for a filter coffee instead. Because of the lovely weather we sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed the view and tranquil surroundings. I am... More

Went with friends for evening meal .. Seated in an empty restaurant by a waiter who could only be described as a young Basil Faulty. We were given menu's but told what was 'NOT AVAILABLE' Not a great start . The wine we ordered was basically plonked on the table UNOPENED. The Cutlery was put at the end of the... More

We stopped here as they had a nice garden area, but that was about all that was nice. Service was terrible and slow. We decided to have afternoon tea. The scones came out of a plastic bag and were put in the microwave. Cream and jam were both pre portioned. The scones (if you can call them that) tasted more... More

Decided to stop off in here on our way home from a weekened away. Ordered a cream tea and drinks for a party of six. The man serving moaned about having to serve another cream team and requested help from another member of staff who refused to assist and replied "Im on my bloody break". Everything we ordered seem too... More

Did not stay here-thank goodness. Just had a meal in the restaurant. The waiter was (only way to describe him)Basil Fawlty. You could see through the door to the kitchen and was totally surprised to see the chef drinking alcohol whilst cooking. The evening was a total shambles. Please train your staff the correct way to greet, serve and know... More

We stayed over the bank holiday weekend with friends who had stayed here previously so it came highly recommended. Whilst the rooms and location can't be faulted, the service left a lot to be desired. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening after being told how busy they were. There were only 2 people in the restaurant and... More

Went in for a drink on a busy Saturday afternoon. 3 staff behind the bar. Three pumps out of action whilst each of the staff took it in turns to have a go at changing the barrels. Queued outside the door. 1 staff operating the till leaving one to serve drinks. Waited 10 minutes to get a drink only to... More

We were staying in lynmouth for a few days and thought we would try The Rock House for an evening meal, we had our dog with us so we were aware that we wouldn't be able to eat in the restaurant, but from the minute we walked through the door i began to realise we had made a mistake. The... More
