This pub has probably the best location in Exeter, and under proper management it could be a goldmine. The best thing is that they do a good wine deal - buy 2 large glasses ans get the rest of the bottle free. There it ends. The food is mediocre to bad. However the worst thing is that, for instance we... More

In desperate search of a nice restaurant in Exeter downtown, we ended up here, and were pleasantly surprised. Staff was friendly, local beer very good, and the fish and chips were good value for money. This is not gourmet food, but honest stuff.

It was surprisingly quiet for a Friday lunchtime. Service was excellent. I went for the chicken and parsley curry which was good, my wife went for the duck stir fry in which the duck apparently "melted in the mouth". Our two friends both plumped for the lasagne which they found very dry and contained too much onion, The sweets were... More

This is a sort of Harvester type fare place - staff are friendly, decor is a bit tired as is the menu - its is burger and scampi sort of place- oven chips. You won't be wowed but then if youre hungry and in a rush and dont want a formal meal then probably you'd be ok with this -... More

Great service by the assistant manager, enjoyed the banter and friendly hosting. Food was great, especially with the Stilton and port sauce to accompany the steak. Me and my friend throughly enjoyed. Will definitely return. Hayley

Obviously set up for tourists but enjoyable nonetheless for a quick pint and a laugh with friends. Pricing is average, selection is fine.

Had food here last month. I asked the waitress about why it's chaucers and the story along with the food was amazing. Highly recommended

the food was lovely, hot served on hot plates (always a bonus), My bog standard white coffee was perfect, and my family were topped up with their drinks as and when requested. Brittany was brilliant, she is an asset to the place, smart and friendly and very good at her job. would highly recommend the place x

Stopped here for a little lunch whilst on a shopping spree in Exeter. Service was lovely. Smiley waitress who was polite and friendly. The food was amazing. Ordered a steak and red onion brioche. Steak was tender and beautifully cooked. Lovely! Definitely visit again in the future.
