About
Welcome to Al-Farid Mezz Bar & Restaurant. Umar ibn ‘Al-Farid’ was esteemed mystic poet of the Arabs. The owner and head chef have created a thoughtful menu that delights the taste buds. A firm favourite is the mezze; an array of small succulent dishes. The mezze comprises of both cold and hot dishes, offering a wealth of colour, flavour, texture and aroma. An attribute of Moroccan food is the fact that is healthy as well as tasty and filling. A choice of traditional Moroccan desserts complement the meal, expect Baklava; a sweet pastry, and Mhallableyh; rice pudding with rose water. We also have the national drink of Morocco, Arak, which has an aniseed base, and a variety of cocktails to enjoy

Fantastic mezze and the deserts are tasty as well - the rice pudding and the baclava. Very good service and excellent Moroccan wine. Oh yes and interesting decor as well. Worth a visit!

Thank you very much. Our Mahalabia; the rice pudding made with rose water, cinnamon and coconut is amazing! Although I can’t help eating baklava! We hope to welcome you back again soon!

I visited here earlier this year and forgot to review. We stumbled upon this place whilst on a business trip, we were drawn in by the warm, authentic decor. Needless to say we weren't disappointed, the service and food were great, would definitely reccommend.

The food played havoc with my stomach, my suspicion was that it was not that fresh. It was tasty, but some of the dishes were quite dry (potatoes, chicken skewers), or greasy (aubergine moussaka). The service was too quick. Asked twice within 5 minutes if...More

Sorry to hear that your experience was not as good as you had hoped. I have checked with the head chef and the cctv to confirm that all food is fresh and I can see no issues that would cause any stomach problems. We make...More

Spoke to Richard on the phone to reserve a table. He was friendly and helpful and the service in the restaurant was likewise. I can imagine that the atmosphere in the restaurant is very good when it is busy. Service attentive and food first class....More
