The best bespoke artisan coffee in Exeter

Have visited a great many times for coffee, cake, and light lunch. Our favourite coffee in Exeter! Many options available for drinks, snacks, and meals for the carnivore and vegetarian alike. Staff are always excellent - greeting all customers and offering suggestions on the best food available on the day. The building is narrow with seating across two floors (and courtyard) - and at busy times it can be tricky to find a table; but it's well worth it. Music will always be on quietly in the background, and this paired with the quirky decorative choices makes for a unique fun feel.

Friendly, quirky, family run cafe!

Popped in as a large group and had plenty of space to enjoy delicious lunch. Ordered a range of food and drinks- particular highlights were the HUGE glorious hot chocolate and home made bean chilli bowl. Service was fast and staff were incredibly friendly. We will definitely be returning as this spot has become a family favourite!

Called in for a quick coffee

Called in for a quick coffee on our way to an appointment. Due to the COVID situation the tables has been socially distanced so we took a seat. We ordered 2 lattes and they were the best coffees we had ever tasted! Temperature was excellent and they were delicious. Service was brilliant, had a nice chat with the lad behind the counter. Will definitely return as we can’t stop thinking about the coffee! Will have to try the food next time too. x

Perfect for lunch

We were going to a show at the Corn Exchange so had been searching on Google maps. A fabulous review popped up for this eating place and it was convenient for lunch before the show. I am so pleased I read the review and decided to visit for lunch, brilliant cafe, lovely veggie friendly menu and friendly service. Visit if you can, you won't be disappointed.

Great place, nice food, shame about the coffee

Quirky, bright place towards the bottom of Fore Street with a lovely little outdoor space. The cakes are great (and the lunches looked pretty good too). The coffee was not, sadly. Very weak and pretty tasteless. A shame, because everything else about The Glorious Art House really is very good (even the birdsong in the loo!)

Gorgeous cafe

I found this gorgeous little cafe on Tripadvisor and we ventured there from the train station and we were really impressed. The lattes were delicious and so were the waffles with yoghurt and fruit! Very friendly and efficient service with food displayed on/in beautiful crockery/plates, cutley was also very quaint! Such colourful artistic decor and gorgeous loo too!! Would highly recommend!

From Garden shed to Co -op Girls Americano

Came in quite by chance and had carrot cake and coffee. Wonderful little cafe with great service from Grace highly recommended to anyone in Exeter situated close to city centre.

Colourful space with great coffee and lunch

Had a great lunch with a tasty Americano and a fruity iced tea. There weather was a bit variable but nice to be able to sit in the courtyard.

Friendly cafe with good quality food

Went for lunch. Friendly staff, quirky cafe but warm and welcoming. Very tasty baguettes and drinks. Just what we needed on a cold winter day. Just lovely.

Exceptionally friendly and accommodating

The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating, the food is very tasty - they went out of their way to seat our group of parents and toddlers, and a great time was had by all!

Glorious? What Happened!?... Lumpy Luke warm??

Glorious use to be a beautiful, lovely lil stop gap for a mocha/light snack, the gardens lovely in the sun and the upstairs decor was beautifully furnished an the staff were EPIC! NOW ITS LIKE TOTAL OPPOSITE! .. Glorious is not the word i would use, the trouble is i cant find a word to describe the appaling service. Our mochas took seemingly forever to recieve a luke warm beverage that had little taste and a whole lot of lumps?? I mean how hard is it to STIR. nt to mention it didnt even taste like a proper mocha, the coffee used seemed to be instant, like what could they not be bothered to turn the coffee machine on?? I will never go there again, unless i go with my own spoon as one was not even provided to stir the **** i was served. Go to THE COSY CLUB, LLOYDS LOUNGE there u will find excellent Service, no pressure and Great food n drink! I truly feel it is a shame as Glorious (not) use to be a truly lovely place to relax and enjoy a mocha with friends. I can only hope the guy who served us learns to make a mocha or drops the UN~Glorious service. My apologys to All the Staff who had previously been fantastic Nb. The lady currently there was also on it with customer service smiles but seemingly went along with the AWFUL cherade as she was the one who served it to us. Upon leaving " enjoy the rest of ur day" We will, as we then went to the Cosy Club, where upon we received EXCELLENT SERVICE as Per STANDARD! And awesome Food *:D Not forgetting GENUINE SMILES *:D May Glorious become Glorious once again by Getting better Staff *=};-)) or learning how to stir an Instant coffee, when they cant be bothered to make a proper one for approximately £3! Lmso I will not be recommending my friends, colleagues people i barely know or even frenemies rrfl! Remember COSY CLUB OR LLOYDS LOUNGE OR SOUTH STREET STANDARD... IN FACT ANYWHERE BUT THE UN-GLORIFIED UNGLORIOUS!
