As a large family party we were given a table downstairs in a private area (so no difficult background noise for older members) & looked after extremely well, in spite of it being Graduation week & a busy time. The food was excellent, ( the portions were a little large for me, but others had no problem) & presented beautifully.

Visited Exeter for a long weekend and found this quite well recommended on Tripadvisor so thought we'd give it a try. First impressions were a bit apprehensive from the unusually quiet atmosphere in the restaurant for a Friday evening but OMG I cannot fault a single thing about the food! My favourite was the confit duck bon bon starter but... More

My partner and I ate here as we visit Exeter regularly and try to visit different restaurants which are rated on Trip Advisor. Cute little restaurant, which is very deceiving from the outside, nicely decorated, I presume from the smell of paint had recently been done (the smell of paint is not a criticism) My partner had scollops and black... What looks a pretty nondescript exterior hides one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in Exeter. The interior is full of interest, the highlight being the magnificent Tudor wall paneling which I could hardly take my eyes off. My wife, son and I had lunch there and we were all very impressed with the quality of food (wonderful fresh... More

Even on an evening when paying full price I still rate this restaurant as one of the top ten in Exeter, however when combined with their amazing lunchtime offers it has to be number one! Why not treat yourself and a friend or family member to a wonderful lunch? The staff are always really welcoming and the quality of the... More

Celebrated a colleague's retirement here at lunchtime. Had an area to ourselves, which was great. Must say it's the best lunch menu (at £9.95) I think I've ever tasted! The salmon and lemon starter was exquisite, as was the pork tenderloin for main course. I was seriously tempted by the Bakewell tart and ice cream but was just too full!... More

Understated from the outside, chic and welcoming inside. Menu short enough to show they care, with local fish, steak, lamb and fresh handmade pasta all enjoyed. Nothing left on any of our plates. Relaxed service, friendly and unhurried. Nice work.

We had the set menu and then enjoyed it so much we had a dessert. The Plaice and Ravioli were both excellent and we had great service. The restaurant carries a selection of local wine and isn't expensive for this quality of food. We'd thoroughly recommend The Conservatory, we'll be back next time we're in Exeter.

Having arrived through the front door there is a small seating area where customers wait nail they are led to their table. We had to find a member of staff to advise them we were there and as there was another party waiting the entrance was pretty packed out. The building is narrow but goes back a way which gave...
