Trip Advisor Award of excellence for the past 4 years is testament to the care and quality of this family run restaurant in the heart of Exeter. The Olive Tree restaurant is placed in The Queens Court Hotel, a beautiful Georgian town house situated on a leafy square in a city, which dates back to the medieval ages. The Olive Tree restaurant is multi-award winning and often referred as the jewel in the crown of the Queen's Court Hotel. Dine amongst the Venetian masks and enjoy the produce of the West Country. All the food is freshly prepared and cooked for you, drawing influences from Italy and the Mediterranean. The restaurant is only a few minutes' walk from the high street, main train stations and very conveniently placed for the University. It is also fortunate to have a public car park on its doorstep that is free overnight and very reasonably priced in the day.

6 Course Tasting Menu and overnight stay - great value

Saw this advertised on a discount site and booked not knowing what to expect. Very pleasantly surprised. Situated in what was once a beautiful square, easily parked right outside and inside was a lovely, quirky town house with slightly wonky stairs. Lovely large room with huuuge old fashioned... read more

We had an absolutely fantastic time this weekend at the Olive Tree. We reserved the Terrace room for 15 people for a birthday meal, and everyone left incredibly impressed with the food and service. We were all very well looked after, and the food was delicious and all served on time. The waiters were attentive and looked after us all... More

Can't comment on the quality of the meal as arrived on Saturday night at 7.30pm for a table that we had booked for 4 people only to find the restaurant and Hotel in total darkness and doors shut. Despite leaving phone number when booking they didn't have the courtesy to contact us to let us know they were not open.... More

I attended The Olive Tree as part of a travel zoo deal and had their 'tasting' menu. My partner and I were very disappointed. The waiter could not have been more dismissive and clearly wanted to 'get em in and ship em out' asap. The food was average at best. It was edible but unexciting and poorly presented. A tasting... We were staying on a one night deal including a "tasting menu" dinner. We didn't have high expectations but their Romanian chef is a real star. Every course was inventive and a joy to eat and the quantities a nice balance between ending up still hungry or feeling stuffed before the last course. The house wines could do with upgrading... My wife, son, and I went to the Olive Tree for the first time despite living in Exeter over ten years. It was to celebrate my birthday and it generally has good reviews. Let me start by saying the food itself was very good and decent size portions, but outside of that the whole experience can best be described as... More

Went to this restaurant as part of a Travelzoo deal staying at the a Queens Court Hotel. The hotel is very basic - needs lots of investment and TLC but has friendly helpful staff. Restaurant food, ambiance and service is excellent. As Arnold Schwarzenegger said "I'LL BE BACK" !
