This was a nice place for a drink in a building steeped in history, we were made welcome by the local residents.

Second visit, think perhaps our first in 2014 was better. This recent visit proved to be a tad disappointing. They didn't have first choice on menu, so went for meat pasty and chips. Standard pasty and quite pricey for what was presented. Young waitress was very good inasmuch she was very obliging by running up and down the narrow staircase... More

A well frequented pub. Full of charm and low beams. Space quite tight so best to get there early. On my last visit, a man dressed as a pirate was relaxing after an event in Dartmouth earlier in the day and it was a perfect fit for an old pub by the sea.

Fantastic old Pub in Dartmouth, ( circa.1380). Just stopped for a couple of pints, great atmosphere, worth a visit. Landlord keeps a good Ale, did not dine but it has a good reputation for food.

Thank you for your review and in particular remarking on how well we keep our ales, we work very hard to serve the best ales and testament to that is the fact that we are one of only 2 Cask Marque accredited pubs in Dartmouth! More

Lovely old place with ancient beams, winding stairs and uneven floors. Located in the heart of the beautiful town of Dartmouth, this place is not lacking in atmosphere. It's not lacking in quality, either. The waiting staff were attentive, the service was quick(ish) and the food was excellent. I visited the Cherub in early July, so just before the holiday... More

Must be the oldest pub in the area. Got lots of character in the small bar. We enjoyed out pint there. But went back to eat and was disappointed. It wasn't cheap and was only mediocre food served on cold plates. Rump steak was over cooked. It is not the place to eat there are better places in Dartmouth but... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review about your experience, we are obviously disappointed that we didn't live up to your expectations, we have not had a steak returned to the kitchen for quite a while so we can only imagine you didn't make a complaint at the time, if you had of then we would have... Everytime i visit dartmouth i come to this beautiful pub and always enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, even the locals are friendly and accommodating. Today i went in to have a quiet drink , hoping to have a chat with said locals but to my horror it has now got a T.V in the corner for the football, what is this... More

Fear not... our TV is not there to stay, over the last few months we have been looking at many different ways to improve our customer offer as many businesses do from time to time, and tried many of them out. As it was the world cup we experimented with a little sport offering, however found that it just wasn't... More

Had dinner here last week. Service was pleasant if a little haphazard. I would not recommend the fish cakes which were spicy?? & horrible.....my friend had the Macroni which was also quite poor. I would definitely not return!

Fantastic OLD pub and so welcoming, it's a pub were you can truly relax and enjoy a drink or two. The drinks are not expensive and there's a large selection of Malt Whiskey's and Gin's. But the Ale's were the best, perfectly poured and so nice. It's a lovely place to visit.
