How do you begin to describe the Cherub Inn? Cosy, quaint, aged, full of character? All of these and more must apply, We have visited this pub whilst on holiday for years and I love to people watch and see their reaction. This pub is the oldest pub in Dartmouth and for some reason a few hundred years ago they never thought about... More

Six of ate here and found the food good and friendly bar staff, basic menu and several items on the specials board. The downstairs room, the bar room is fascinating and very small indeed. This place is very old, plenty of wood and lots of beams at strange angles, and small windows etc. We returned a few times just for... More

Have eaten here on a couple of occasions now when visiting Dartmouth. It's dog friendly (downstairs) and the food is imp,e but very good, and is good value for money. Service is quick and efficient and freindly.

The meals we had at this small pub (bar downstairs, small dining room upstairs) were good pub food at fair prices. The steak & kidney pud was large and filled with meat. Very good chips. Good 2-person steak offer the evening we were there. The mixed seafood salad (also sizeable) was reportedly OK but that's about it. Service friendly.

After a dodgy start with the waiter telling me he couldn't swap peas for another vegetable when ordering my sons meal, plus a sudden stream of water leaking through the ceiling from the loos to the carpet next to our table, the food did arrive fairly quickly and was of an OK standard. All plates were cleared including the children's... More

Thank you for your review, we are glad you cleared all your plates and the reason we couldn't swap your peas was because we don't have other vegetables on our menu at the moment. we would like to re-assure you that the sudden leak that sprung was from a freezer we were defrosting in our store room above, which we... Great atmosphere and dog friendly. Food good pub grub chips could be better though. Hard to find a pub to serve food before 6pm and they were very strict to time here.

Thank you for your review, I'm glad you enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of The Cherub. Unfortunately we weren't able to serve you food before our normal start time of 6pm as we have to allow time for the equipment to heat up and the chef to make sure that everything is prepared for the service, although I'm pleased to hear... We tried local dishes including crab, crayfish and smoked haddock. Even the chips and bread were nice. Waitresses were great and the building is amazing with crooked and sloping features.

Only had drinks in here, we didn't eat so can't comment on the food. This pub is very busy and full of locals, which is always a good sign. The restaurant is located upstairs and seemed to have a steady stream of people going up there. A beautiful old building full of character.

We had a family meal here and were sat on the second floor. It really did lack any atmosphere whatsoever. It was a fairly basic menu and quality of the food was pretty average. The young waitress was very good, but we wouldn't return.
